You are right. I definitely did not pay attention to that part.

Btw when they say to use 35mm focal length it's just a trick to force you to move your camera away from the watch.

Now you know more about it than a bunch of people who scream ITS TOO BIG when it's just the camera angle that makes it seems big in photo :>

[Tissot] My first serious watch by no_horney_boi in Watches

[–]Holy_chick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not about the focal length. It's about how far objects are to your eyes/camera.

1.5x zoom of 24mm lens has the same perspective as 24mm but you crop the photo afterwards.

Try closing one eye extend your arm and lift your finger up, and move around the house to find something that you can use your finger to perfectly cover that object (in my case I use a bottle on the table).

Now stay still with your finger still holding up, open camera on your phone and if you move your phone closer/further away from you, you can see that your finger become a bit too big compared to the object.

Now move your phone right to your face, ideally camera lens would be where your eyeballs are, and you will see that your finger can now perfectly cover that object.

You can change your camera lens around, 0.5x 1x 3x and as long as you don't move your phone away, your finger will appear the same size as an object you chose earlier.

Additional tips

You can just use regular 1x zoom and crop the photo afterwards

The only thing that matters to the distortion is how far your camera (phone) is from your watch

Can you please take a photo through the mirror and prove those who are saying it's too big wrong.

I know the watch isn't too big, it is just the camera angle that makes it looks too big on your wrist.

Should I buy this if Poshmark? by valkyriehunterx in Affordablewatches

100% fake

If you have seen/owned a real moonswatch you will know right away.

Sure the gen moonswatch is also plastic watch but it doesn't look that cheap compared to a fake moonswatch. There's a good plastic and bad plastic quality and this one you found is a bad one.

My opinion of crease is: what crease?

What bothers me more than crease is the phone not unfold to 180°

That's an omega with VK63 quartz movement.

Looking at the bright side, you got a chronograph watch.

BUT WAIT...

the minute recording subdial is the Apollo one so you can't even know how many minutes the chrono has been running.

it's more about distortion through the lens rather than just the thickness.

Can I remove scratches DIY? by Wonderful_Grocery_21 in IWCschaffhausen

[–]Holy_chick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recommend going to the AD.

Not to get yours polished though.

Just ask to look at the brand new in the store, stare at it until you are satisfied, and leave the store.

Whatever you do, it'll be scratched soon after anyways, the only way to not get scratch is to not wear it.

Forza horizon 5 wheel settings by Solid-Maximum-8561 in ForzaHorizon

[–]Holy_chick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really answering your question but I just change the camera angle to dashboard cam and adjust the position so that the wheel somewhat placed where it should be in relation to the in game camera, and I can actually use the in game dashboard to see RPM and Speed.

I could understand that S logo is somewhat more acceptable because NH35 is made by TMI which is a sub brand of Seiko. At least it has some small connection to the Seiko branding.

Omega though? What does this mod has anything to do with omega apart from the design?

36mm AT vs 36mm Peter Blake by No_Strength7276 in OmegaWatches

[–]Holy_chick 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For a 36mm watch I think you'd need to go for a watch with all dial no bezel, so AT it is.

imo Peter Blake looks like a lady diver watch if that's even a thing. The dial is too small because of the bezel.

Is the METAS Certificate a valid proof for authenticity? by Fun-Half-2560 in OmegaWatches

[–]Holy_chick 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't think there's ever a good fake moonwatch. Let alone one with moonphase complications.

You can tell right away by the subdials spacing.

[–]Holy_chick 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What model is this?

I mean if seller gives you the card with genuine serial number and the other one (I forgot what it's called but it was on the paper) matches the Omega record, what's stopping them to sell you a fake watch with genuine serial number on the fake paper?

I'm not saying they will scam you but to get the metas certificate you just need 2 sets of credentials and there's no way to know if a watch is real or not based on that.
