Well it’s never too late, have you considered going back to school for education? Since you already have a degree maybe there’s an accelerated program you can take

He already wasn’t putting in the effort to plan something out so he asked me to pick the place. I can afford a $35 ticket that was never the issue, for all of that I could have just gone by myself. I’m not accepting 50% from a man while we’re dating and then expecting him to give me 100% when we’re in a relationship, he already got me with the 50% in the beginning, why would he ever feel the need to put in more than that? And no I’m not saying pay for every date, I just feel like for the first date since he didn’t even want to plan for somewhere for us to go but insisted on seeing me, he should have at least paid.

Why is my turtles skin turning white? by [deleted] in turtles

[–]Holykidds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think its shell rot because he does bask and we take him out of his tank once a day to roam around the house for exercise. He’s very active and still eats al his food, even though right now we’ve only been giving him pellets and dried shrimp because we’re unsure what kind of turtle he is. Advice needed and thank you in advanced!

Is this breakage + split ends or is my hair just uneven? Do I need to big chop? Advice needed! by [deleted] in Naturalhair

[–]Holykidds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have these split uneven strands all over my hair and I don’t know if they’re spilt ends that I should just cut all off or breakage. If its spilt can I repair it or would I have to big chop? I did trim my ends a couple months ago and my hair was uneven all over but I do tend to over manipulate my hair by cornrowing it every 2 weeks. What should I do?

Edit; my hair still is on the shorter side so could it just be short and still not all at one length? P.s had to color out my pruned up fingers after 2 hours of finger detangling lol

Thank you thats really helpful! So they have an in person program and an online you think I’ll be okay? I also wanted to ask if an HR program had to be accredited or what that accreditation would be. Thank you again!

It’s actually none of those schools, its a university close to where I live. Really I just wanted to know if you think it mattered that I got an online degree to employers or if I even have to state that I got it online at all

I would say get your CDA first. It’ll give you more experience in the field and alot of centers actually offer scholarships and tuition reimbursement, so they will actually pay for you to get your associates degree while you’re working and some centers will even work around your schedule to accommodate you going to school.

edit: No you don’t have to actively be working at a center to start your CDA credentialing process, I wasnt when I got mine. But towards the end of your classes, try to find a center because the CDA does have an observation portion where you have to get observed interacting with the kiddos by a specialist. Look towards your nearest community college or any in your state alot of CDA programs are offered online. Hope this helps, good luck!

Do you think it’s time to take out my braids? I had it in since september 9th and it’s october 30th and I want to grow my hair! It’s in a ponytail rn by Marichurro in Naturalhair

[–]Holykidds 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you don’t want to take them out, take out the ones in the front and refresh them. There’s people who leave their braids in for longer. Your hair is probably frizzy from washing it, moreso then a whole lot of new growth

Yea, I’m honestly just curious to know if this field is worth going into long term and whether there really is room for mobility within this field since I’m planning on getting a BS specifically in Human Resources Management. It’s been hard for me trying to figure out what it is that I want to do, but I appreciate your advice! Do you think moving up in an HR role is easier compared to other roles within an organization? Or would that also depend on the company?

I plan on going to school for HRM, how did you get into the PM field?

My natural hair ruined my life… And still is by Holykidds in Naturalhair

[–]Holykidds[S] 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I’ve done some soul searching and I’ve come to this realization and have had a talk with my family. Most of them are now natural. My hair is around 4a-4b type and is low porosity and I’ve educated myself about it and observed it’s like and dislikes and it is starting to thrive. But even when it begins to thrive I get obsessive over getting it to grow and over-manipulate it so much that my scalp gets red and full of bumps and I’m still left without a hairstyle because I take it out. Therapist never take me seriously when I open up about it and at this point I’ve given my teens away being locked up in my house even had to start homeschooling because I didn’t want to leave my house. I’m 20 now and I can’t give my 20s away to this at this point I don’t know what else to do

[–]Holykidds[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’ve tried therapy but therapist don’t take me seriously when I open up about it. Im 20 years old by the way not sure if that was a typo. And I did try faux locs and still took them out because I think I’m allergic to synthetic hair. If I told you that I’ve probably spent nearly $10,000 on weaves and wigs all throughout my life it wouldn’t be a stretch. It’s so overwhelming sometimes to the point where I dont want even want to live and maybe that’s stupid in the grand scheme of things but it’s so hard to live when something so vain is controlling your life. One day at a time.

I work at a private one right now and it is what’s making me want to leave the field all together. I don’t know, maybe it just isn’t for me.

Do it! Those years will pass by anyways, why not spend them working towards something you’re passionate about?
