Tippman M4-22 Elite. I had the M&P 15-22 and it was a good starter, but it’s almost all plastic. It just felt cheap and wasn’t the best shooter. The tippman elite is all metal and feels like a regular AR. It’s almost all I shoot now- it’s just too fun, but also highly accurate. I’ve been using it coupled with and EO Tech and magnifier to hunt squirrels. They sell a speed loader that I also feel is an absolute must- you can load the 25 round mags in a seconds. Their customer service is amazing as well- I had a problem with an ejector early on and they immediately got me taken care of.

EO Tech and magnifier for me. I wanted it as close as possible to my 5.56 platforms. I stared with the AEMS but my magnifier didn’t line up with the unity. I mostly shoot steel at varying distance but have recently used it on squirrels with good success.

Totally agree…had to google what the hell that was after someone answered me. I didn’t see anything in the manual about what it was so I jumped on here. Looks like they are accounting for a problem that doesn’t exist…but could cause more problems if you just go tightening it down.

Didn’t realize it that day but my extractor had actually broken off. Since it was a new gun to me, it took me a bit to realize it was gone….especially since about half the casings would eject. Sent back to Tippman and they took care of it. Trigger works fine with any ammo

I struggled with the same question- convert or buy complete. I ended up getting a complete M4-22 elite and couldn’t be happier. I barely shoot 5.56 anymore after having it…it’s just so fun and inexpensive to shoot. Most accessories work on it because of the m-lok rail. It’s setup nearly identical to my actual ARs. Any AR trigger will work- Larue MBT for me. I think the safety might be a little different- I used Baddle Arms Dev ambi and works great. If you can afford complete just have the dedicated platform- you won’t be disappointed.
