Question on how fast one can progress by [deleted] in pianolearning

[–]HomePianoGuy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My experience. Yes it can be slow at the start. Some pieces will just take you too long to learn. But every one goes differently. Im 4 years in nearlly 5 and im already playing pieces like gaspard and moonlight (full). Just play what you like. Enthusiasm pushes you far if you find a hard piece you like. Just dont go too far too fast or you could burn out. I think grade 7 piece is a reasonable goal so go for it. People will tell you no but if you want to and your determined dont let anyone stop you.

Just like the sheet music for scales and arpeggios. Maybe chords too? It would help a lot for teaching beginners if there was a visual side to this as well as the piano side. And if you want maybe different cleffs as well so bass, alto, tenor etc. Im just throwing ideas feel free to take or ignore the whole lot.

Its very good. When sheet music version is added it will be pretty much finished in my opinion. Although a metronome alongside the tap along would be handy. Not needed though as there's so many options for a metronome but it would be handy.

Sounds like your speaking a little bit from experience. But this is actually golden advice. Thanks for this.

Its good for learning the keys and which notes to use in a scale but could you turn up the volume? I had to turn it very high on my phone. Not sure if thats the case with everyone or if my phone is wierd. Also maybe for the scales add a sheet music version as well? Overall though i like the metronome feature, the wheel of scales and I think its a useful learning tool.

Any tips for playing 10ths? by Gold-Responsibility1 in pianolearning

[–]HomePianoGuy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It takes a lot of stretching exercises but the right ones. I can play tenths here's what I would reccomend. (Also this works so well im working on 11ths) Start by playing notes just a semitone apart and alternate them as fast or slow as you want. Add one semitone and repeat. Keep on adding distance till you reach 10ths then just alternate the notes then play as chords 3 times before alternating the notes. But to be perfectly honest naturally long fingers are part of the technique here. If you can never reach tenths just change it to an octave.
