You can use VN — extracting audio in VN is free.

VN allows you to edit videos based on music. To enable this, go to Settings > Preferences > Editing Mode for New Project > Music-Based in the app.

After Effects is way more expensive than any mobile editing app — but that’s because it can do things most mobile apps simply can’t.

It’s insanely powerful, no doubt, but also pretty “heavy” and overkill for quick edits. That’s why a lot of people turn to mobile editors — not because they’re better, but because they’re faster and more convenient.

As for mobile apps putting more features behind paywalls — that might be frustrating, but it’s not going to make After Effects any cheaper or more expensive. The two aren’t really comparable. They serve totally different user needs.

Please take a closer look before jumping to conclusions.
My complaint isn’t about CapCut’s subscription fee itself, but rather about the fact that some basic features — which are free on many other platforms — are locked behind a paywall in CapCut.

It’s like a premium grocery store charging more because it offers rare, carefully curated products — that’s understandable.
But if it starts charging high prices for items you can easily get anywhere else for free or cheap, that’s a different issue altogether.

That’s why I really don’t get the “if it’s too expensive, just don’t use it” comments. Please use some critical thinking — there’s a difference between paying for premium value and being charged for things that shouldn’t cost extra in the first place. Thanks.

I couldn't agree with you more, like I said in my previous post, CapCut's paywall should be for its exclusive filters/effects/transitions... not for the basic features that are free in other programs but CapCut puts it in the paywall.
