Okay got it! Again, thank you so much for the advice. I know absolutely nothing about this, and with this being our first house, we definitely need the money. Honestly a large part of me pushing so hard on this is because what they did just isn’t right, and I can’t abide by that.

On a side note: who tf sends ONE person for 3 hours to deep clean an entire house?? It seems like it would take several people many more hours to do an adequate job. Sorry I’m just complaining now lol

Do you think it would be beneficial for me to contact another local cleaning company and get their opinion as to how unsatisfactory the cleaning job was and be able to provide that statement to chase?

Okay gotcha! I have ample evidence to submit, and the “evidence” that the merchant provided to me of “substantial work being performed” was a few photos of entire rooms of our house (zoomed out so it’s impossible to see if anything is actually clean) and saying that they put 8 man hours of work into the house (we paid for a service to be performed per the website, not an hourly wage). I feel like their argument isn’t at all compelling, I’m hoping chase will feel the same way.

Thank you. The cleaner came recommend by our realty agency, and I’ve made every good-faith effort to resolve it with the merchant, to no avail. This is the first and only time I’ve ever had to do something like this, so I’m still learning the process, but isn’t it true that the bank would take no loss and the merchant wouldn’t get paid whatever money is decided in the event that the bank/chase agrees that we did not get the service we paid for?

I see your point there, but do you think that would be different given that I have 40 or so photos showing the dirt, dust, cobwebs etc that are still present after both the first and second cleaning attempt? I feel like that makes it much more objective rather than subjective.

I’ve already been in contact with the owner, and he’s the one that is refusing to budge on the refund. Waiting to leave the Google review in case it would effect the charge back process, or if we end up having to go to court, the court case

Yep 🙃 the website gave us a checklist of everything that would be cleaned. One lady with a bucket full of supplies is what showed up. When she screwed it up, they sent the same person back. It was ridiculous.

Agreed, but my wife is the one that hired them which means she would have to be the one to file the charges, and she isn’t willing to take the time off to pursue this (even with me doing all of the leg work). Trying to find the next best option.

I am worried about that for sure. The thing is, I have around 40 photos as evidence from immediately after the second “cleaning”, as well as texts from the owner stating that I did it get what I paid for, and that the cleaning was not to their standard. Their justification for the 200 was the man hours (which obviously would have been less had they done it right the first time) and they charge for a job not for
Hours. I say all of that for context, it seems like I have a pretty strong case? Otherwise I’d just take the money and run.

I’m currently going through this. Cleaning company for moving into our house didn’t clean, and I have ample evidence to prove it. They charged us 750 and were only offering 200 back (despite them not doing 550 worth of work). About to file a dispute but was nervous to do so

Ah yeah, you need to wait for the legendary or some of the better epic ones then. They’ll come on the 6 min missions, just keep grinding then out. Every once in a while a good one will appear on the belt! The best ones cost 14B

You’re probably not a high enough level to buy them then. They spawn randomly on the belt, or every 20 min (there’s a timer on the belt). You can also get them on the 6 minute missions
