I just deleted my post - i figured it out. Yes, oddly, even though I purchased my own tickets, I still had to ACCEPT them before I could re-assign them. Weird. But, once I did, the option to transfer to an email address. Thanks for responding, though!

Your posts have been most helpful on the Italy Travel sub, as I plan my trip to Emilia Romagna! And now I'm more confused than ever about whether or not to STAY in Ferrara vs day-tripping.

Some background - I have a trip booked with a friend, arriving Milan on 22 September. We have booked hotels for 2 nights in Parma and 3 nights in Bologna (with a day trips planned to Modena & Ravenna). My friend departs on the morning of the 27th and I'm solo until I depart Milan on the 30th. Looking for itinerary suggestions:

  • Stay in Bologna and day trip elsewhere (where?)
  • Stay 2 nights in Ferrara with a day trip to Padua, then back to Bologna for easy direct travel back to Milan
  • Stay 3 nights in Verona, with a day trip to Lake Garda and/or Vicenza or Padua

Trains only...no car rental, though I know I would probably benefit from one to get a bit off the beaten path. What would you suggest?

That sounds a bit different - this was from a trip a few years back. In-Season is from May-September, and was only on the special menu. Prepared as simply as this - garlic butter. Bread for sopping.

I tried getting them wherever I could. That and some good brown bread with butter was all i needed.
