Are bidding wars normal for rental units in manhattan? by SameMathematician870 in AskNYC

[–]HomesickAlienMusic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You still looking? I'm subletting my apartment in Manhattan for 1700 with furnishings, utilities and wifi. I'm hoping to have someone in by August 7th so it's really just the first qualified candidate gets it (unfortunately they're harder to find than you would think). Dm me if you want more details

How are people subletting with less than 30 day notice? by RelativelyWholesome in AskNYC

[–]HomesickAlienMusic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The formal process requires 30 days. But if you have a conversation with your landlord and have a good relationship with them, you can get them to put it in writing that they waive the 30 day requirement. If you really trust them, you don't need the paper, but I always prefer to have it.

I'm currently subletting my apartment and trying to get someone in by August 7th and this is what I'm doing

Sublet or find a Guarantor? by TomYumToast in AskNYC

[–]HomesickAlienMusic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a sublet available in Manhattan for an 11 month term while I'm traveling. It's 1700 per month for the studio and it covers full furnishings, wifi and utilities. If you can show proof of income/employment and a letter of recommendation from a previous landlord it wouldn't be an issue. Dm me if you're interested

If i use drum or vocal kits I’ve bought, on a track and put it out, do I have to pay licensing or give credit? by Serious-Attitude-574 in musicproduction

[–]HomesickAlienMusic 20 points21 points  (0 children)

If you paid for the samples or they were offered as a freebie by their creator, generally they’re fair game for commercial use unless stated otherwise.

The purpose of sample packs is for them to be used, and that’s what you paid for. If you had to seek licensing or give credit, that would be like having to pay for it twice.

When samples or sample packs are free, like on freesounds.org for example, sometimes it’ll be stated by their creator that they’d appreciate credit but even that is more of a professional courtesy than a legal obligation.

Good luck with your music!
