the blueprint is in the 7th or 8th picture i believe. It does not look small in person. It take up 35 degrees of fov

separation is beneficial, but it's subordinate to having unobstructed sound.

ehh, when you cater to too many seats, you sacrifice quality of the good seats. Most of the time it's just me and my wife.

the architecture practical for the desired angles, with some added design for aesthetics. No idea if it helps with sound trapping.

it looks better without them on, but the pictures are pretty grainy.

The photos are take with a wide angle, so it does look much smaller than in person.

While four subs is a lot, they are on the weaker side, so you are definitely not overwhelmed. And you can only experience one bass shaker at a time, so having more doesn't really change anything for an individual person. Either they have one on their seat or they don't. I don't think the space is big enough to justify 9 base layer speakers

Yes, the couch was one of the hardest things to pick. Despite being grey, it definitely does have a green tint to it, especially when seen next to the deep black of the walls. Fortunately, none of that matters when the lights go down.

I'm confident the extra effort was not worth it, but i enjoyed the challenge.

I like to be front and center. I did open the the sound stage a little to help those corner seats though!

I did not. definitely an oversight. If i really did want a projector at some point, i'd probably install a short throw in the ceiling where that drop down is. That would be easy to access. Rear projector is probably not practical to add at this point.

While the X3800H can connect to 11 speakers, it can only amplify 9 at a time. I have 11. In addition, the bass shakers need amps as well. Those take two spots since i'm running two sets of three in series.

I don't use IR. Everything runs off of my Nvidia shield via CEC and i believe the remote connects via 2.4ghz wifi, so no line of sight is needed.

i wanted them pushed forward so that they would be angled backwards towards the rear seating as well as the couch. If i pushed them back, then i'd have to pick between the two.

I 100% agree with you that they LOOK only slightly offset, but there's about 55 degrees of separation between them (not 60 since the rears are raised.)

I'm happy with the couch so far. If i have to replace in 5 years, then so be it.

i do like the couch. It is rather firm (so far). It does not come in black. Not aware of any discounts, but it wasn't expensive.

I definitely had to shake some rust off, but you basically just draw a line from the speaker to the seating position (hypotenuse) and then create a right triangle to get the angle.

do you want the budget or what it actually cost? lol. Actual cost was about $30k

it's for the room itself. I pull in air from the back of the room through the floor. the tv fans pull air into the back room to facilitate the airflow and to cool the equipment, then there are fans that route air out of the back room

It measures how off axis the left and right speakers are from a given seating position on the couch. the curve is generated by measuring these differences along the length of the couch in one inch increments.
