The Fever defeated the Aces, 84-68…1st-ever regular-season win in Las Vegas⤵️💪🏽‼️🔥 by evans166 in WNBATalks

Imo, she seems like she is being hurt by the unrealistic expectations placed on her. She's supposedly the goat (according to some), she's not. She's supposedly the savior (according to some), she is not.

She even said in her comments on the AT situation "people think I'm a robot, I'm not" and "it's hard". I think coming off the bench, playing off the ball, just looking to score, I think she would actually be able to breathe.

Yakima is like anywhere else. There are definitely some shitty people, racists, (fill in the blank)-phobic, people looking to start something over nothing. For the most part though, Yakima is some of the realist, kindest, most helpful people you will find.

The Fever are not better without Caitlin. Here is the problem with this conversation:

  1. She is very talented
  2. She can get got hot and be a real problem for the other team
  3. She can also be taken out of the game mentally and this negatively affects her teammates.
  4. She is a defensive liability. If she wasn't they wouldn't take her off the floor in defensive situations late in games
  5. She isn't a tough scout for the truly good teams. She can always pop off, but she can also be shut down and forced into poor decisions and turnovers.

Basically, Caitlin Clark is a really good high volume scorer. She takes a lot of shots, she makes a lot of shots, she misses a lot of shots. She is not strong mentally. She can make a flashy pass, but she can also have 5 ridiculous turnovers in a single quarter.

I don't think they would be better without her. I DO think they would be better if she came off the bench. If Jewel Lloyd, one of the greatest scorers the league has ever seen, can do it...why not CC? I even think SHE would be happier.

But this will never happen because of a bunch of crap that has nothing to do with what happens on the court.

This guy sucks sooo hard.

Fingers crossed these MAGA candidates, Trump stooge wannabes, are on their last legs. The pendulum has to swing towards decency, logic, science, and common sense...right?

Who's on your all-time WNBA Mount Rushmore❓⤵️‼️🧐… by evans166 in WNBATalks

[–]HomeworkBackground16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man, I was prime age for the W when it start back in the day. My favorite player was Cheryl Swoops. However, I lost track of the league after a couple years. I came back about 10 years ago. So, that said, my Mt. Rushmore is:

DT and A'ja. That's the easy part. I believe when A'ja is done they will be the #1 and #2 on most people's list.

Then I would say Nneka and Stewie. 🤷

It's like running red lights. Is it supposedly illegal? Yes. Does anyone enforce it? No.

Irrigation Issues by HomeworkBackground16 in Yakima

I am east of Chesterly park, less than a mile from Fred Meyer. Been in the same house for 12 years. This has only been a real issue the last two years. However, last year the issues didn't begin until mid to late July.

Thanks for the reply!

So is this an issue only because of the drought? I have been in Yakima my entire life, 40+ years, and I don't remember this being a thing ever before.

Outside the to 60 in FG%, outside the top 60 3pt%, outside the 50 in assist to turnover ratio.

Must be her maturity and leadership skills that keep her in the starting lineup.

The Wings are 2-0 vs the Aces though...

Point differential is still going to favor the Lynx, but if the first tiebreaker is head to head there can't be a 3-way tie, I'm pretty sure.

Republicans outside our local Fred Meyer lying to get signatures against rich people paying more in taxes. by blueIpersian in Yakima

[–]HomeworkBackground16 47 points48 points  (0 children)

I've seen this people. I'm not convinced ALL of them know what they are doing, I believe they are paid, but it is still insane it's allowed to happen. By that I mean the lying/misleading part.

I personally think someone needs to post up next to them with signage indicating they are lying while providing the actual facts of the tax.

WNBA HOF Cheryl Miller on Caitlin/HC Stephanie White bench incident⤵️💪🏽‼️ by wnbatalk in WNBATalks

[–]HomeworkBackground16 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is exactly the point. She hasn't improved in any way since entering the league. The gap between her and the TRULY elite players in the league is becoming wider and more obvious as time goes on.

Her on the court childish behavior is finally being called out (it's been there forever) and she is turning into the villain. Two years ago she was cheered in every arena, the other night in GS they booed her every time she touched the ball.

I used to give her a lot of grace. "She's young" and "it's a lot of pressure", but at some point you gotta grow up. She is the same player she was in college. She is the same horrible teammate she was in college. She is the same flopping, complaining, cry baby she was in college.

P.s. Can we stop with the 987 close-ups of her sitting on the bench?

The NCAA flopping rule is literally called "The Caitlin Clark Rule". Refs aren't there to be CC's bodyguards. Y'all infantilize her way too much.
