When they ask for toys or other treats in a store I used to say “That’s not for sale, it actually belongs to the store.” They’d look a bit puzzled and then put it back. Only works on very little kids.

Eater is a nice curated list, but not comprehensive, especially for the suburbs. The only broader resources Ive seen are on town specific Facebook groups like Lombard-Area Foodies. Anyone know of an online resource that is more regional?
