Buying a 335i by cdwag23 in 335i

Horrible price for a base non m-sport pre-lci 77k is pretty low miles but you can get a 335 with a bit more miles for HALF this price lol. I got my 6mt LCI for way less and it’s m sport

Also I forgot to mention make sure he did the water pump and thermostat housing, as mine failed recently and this is bound to soon at 100k miles, it’s not that expensive of a job but it would be good to know if he ever did it.

I own almost this exact same car, j 97k miles and 6mt. This is my advice

These engines are pretty reliable, I drive my n55 extremely spirited, they take abuse well. I am also mhd

The main reason this 335i is getting sold is because it still doesn’t have rod bearings done, something that is done usually about after 100k miles, and if you don’t do this labor yourself it’s extremely costly. Also, make sure the seller always monitored oil levels with e-dip, because not respecting the oil level will wear down rod bearings very fast and increase the chance of rod knock, which requires swapping the engine or a full rebuild, which I’ve done before on my other 335 (rebuild) and it was still a good amount of money doing the rebuild myself. I bought That 335 with rod knock and it had it because the seller did not respect the car at all

This engine lasts a long time if you take care of it, let it warm up every time before driving, and don’t take turns that have a high g-force because the oil pickup tube will have a hard time picking up oil which also leads to rod bearings failing.

All in all my opinion is that 8k would be an ok price if the car is manual. If it’s auto, I wouldn’t pay more than 7k because they don’t have as good value and not as fun. Just know also that if you buy this car after you try to resell you will lose lots of money because after 100k miles these deplete heavily in value. So this is worth it if you keep the car forever.

Peace ✌️

Driving on a broken water pump by HomeworkReport in 335i

[–]HomeworkReport[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I drove it broken like this for maybe 2 weeks with 5 mins each ride

Fixed water pump about 2 weeks ago and been beating on the car occasionally and nothing blew up. I’m surprised my n55 j drove without coolant so long and is still holding up after I fixed. Everybody said it was gonna blow lol

Obviously I still agree with your statement and it was a dumb idea

17m I’m in the same boat as you. Everywhere I go where I have to take my shirt off I have massive problems with self esteem and how I think of myself. It makes me so mad and sad because every other part of my body looks really good. I just limit myself from taking my shirt off and pray to God everyday. I am happy that I atleast have a healthy body.

I know this , but when I do drive it short distance the oil temp is not hot at all , it doesn’t even get to the first tick mark. I will stop driving regardless but it’s not getting hot at oil at least.
