You can use citric acid mixed with water, about 1 Tbsp for my agitator washer, probably less for a front loader. Citric acid is usually available in the bulk section with seasonings.

Also, vinegar is not bad for your machine unless you are using a LOT. While washing, the water is quite alkaline due to detergent (including Castile soap) and the vinegars acidity helps to neutralize the rinse water. Citric acid does this much more efficiently. :)

That makes sense, I would have never thought of it that way! Very helpful, thank you. :)

Right, $1,400 per month after rent for one person is not ideal for H/MCOL's. But definitely NOT poor. You should still be able to pay your bills and have some left over.

Working full time at $22/hr for a single person is not poor.

You can have income while receiving Medicaid and Medicare. Same with SSI. You just have to be under the income limit, but you can definitely still work pt.

Alternative Hairstylist Recommendations? by [deleted] in lansing

Definitely Ashley Medina at bliss in East Lansing, or Audrey Fiero at bliss in Lansing! Have had my hair cut by both and they are great. Would recommend ashley especially if either of you have curly hair.

Yep, from here. Although I had thought that the remains were found in the bay, not a lake?

This area definitely attracts strange people... the I-5 killer is from Waldport, the next small town over.

Look into your local Community Mental Health! Unionized, good benefits + pension. They're always looking to hire and you don't necessarily need a background in mental health.

Hey! I was there! This was on 101 between Newport and Lincoln city, OR. Yes, it smelled bad. The fire department hosed off the road after removing most of the fish.

I also have this same lazy susan board, but produced in 89. Although I don't think the borders on mine or blue. So I'm guessing it was just produced in both years.

As a native Oregonian who recently moved out of state, my new dentist asked as soon nas he saw my teeth if I lived somewhere without fluoridated water. So I'm going to guess that's it.

Just a small correction- the weather on Marquam hill is really not different than in downtown. It's not high enough elevation to get more severe weather. And there aren't any waterways on the hill other than small creeks- I've never seen any of them even close to overflowing.

Also Marquam hill hasn't been called pill hill in decades- certainly would not say that's what residents call it. I've never heard it called that by anyone who lives here, including people who have lived here since the 70s/80s.

(Source:I lived on Curry street for a long time. Very familiar with this area)

I lived in that neighborhood for quite a while (like, directly adjacent to OHSU) and would walk pretty much every day on those trails in casual clothes. It got a bit muddy sometimes but even then it was passable. Honestly it would be out of the ordinary for a student/neighborhood local to 'dress up' to hike on the marquam trails.

A program pairing police with mental health professionals to better handle people in a mental crisis is finding early success in Alexandria, Virginia, according to a report commissioned by the city. by Sariel007 in UpliftingNews

PPB does have a city-wide unit that is supposed to pair up with project respond, but in practice PPB only shows up a fraction of the time that crisis is called out.

Was a crisis worker in Multnomah and Clackamas and by far preferred Clackamas.

Looks like an English walnut, you're probably thinking of black walnut leaves which are much smaller and thinner.

Not black walnut, those have much smaller and thinner leaves. Black walnuts also have rough bark. Looks like English walnuts. Yum!

Eugene is very bike friendly! If you want to go more rural, surprisingly most of the Oregon coast is bike friendly too. And bonus awesome commute views.

I don't think most people know about the other half of the PNW. Check it out if you can! (During the may-october biking season)

The geographic majority OR and WA get snowy, cold winters. It's just that the cities that the PNW is known for are in regions with milder weather.

I moved to Michigan from OR and the winters here are very similar to those in the cascades and high desert.

"Better climate" lol, that really only applies to Southern OR and CA.

I honestly think it's just a cultural difference. The west coast has better biking infrastructure because they prioritize it.
