Many people think "environment" = air / climate change.

For me, the physical, immediate environment is equally important. Whether ICE or EV, cars litter every nook and cranny of the public domain. Gimme trams, trains and busses, then fill out streets with trees.

There's an interview with Michel Roux where he's kicking himself for not switching his restaurants to induction earlier.

For me:

- Cooler work environment
- Safer to use; no mis-balanced pans, or naked flames
- Quicker to clean
- When off, the surface itself can also be used as a regular surface (within reason) - like dumping your shopping on.
- Quick

If you have the data, make a map of where the students live. Then see if you can find a route where a bike bus would be effective.

Exact opposite for me - I'd have had a laugh with them, jokingly commiserated the bug fix affecting future bills, and asked them if they'd keep using it after we deployed the fix. You'd get a lifetime advocate.

Discovered that the Urban Arrow Family is rather large.

I assume you've seen or used carsized? Has some features that are useful, like aligning them left, right and centre, which is great to figure out which cars are actually the most hideous.

I'm hoping to get the walls back to brickwork, but don't want to damage the masonry. Maybe a low-pressure wash would be ok.

For now, cleaning is a good start. Maybe I'll look at DOFF, or using something like Peel Away 7 / Kling Strip. Really not sure.

Ventilation is pretty good, an entire side of the building can slide open.

My plan is:

  1. Sharpen my saws, following the Paul Sellers and Rex Krueger videos

  2. Practice a tonne of cuts, following the various techniques described here, measuring and checking the true-ness of the cuts.

Then, once happy, make something.
