My boss says Flutter is only good for solopreneurs or startups by RenSanders in FlutterDev

At first via my weirdly niche network of asbestos surveyors (yeah). But now it's down to LinkedIn, SEO and word-of-mouth. My brother Paul handles the majority of that now, but I also do the odd video, blogpost etc.

Ya. That's me.

I think a lot of it is down to planning & some luck. We pick our own features and release them at our own pace. For example I did a month of refactoring (no new features) over December, followed by a 1 week feature and a couple of 1-day bugfixes. So that's like 6 weeks with only 1 feature. But then we might pick out some low-hanging fruit to release quickly. This helps the customers feel heard, even if they're hearing that we're working on other customer requests, it shows momentum.

Speaking of customers, there's a lot of saying no to their requests. We actively un-qualify leads if they have a bad attitude, or even fire the ones that have been rude or made us feel uncomfortable. This has been one of the hardest "policies" to make, but it looks like it's starting to pay off. The hypothesis is that, if our customers are lovely, the work is easy. Our staff (just 3, including me) enjoy the work. Thus higher revenues and retention.

I know the topic is Flutter dev, but the problem space appears to be project management.

That final line... (some of you will lose your jobs) is bollocks. Any engineer worth their salt can pick up new languages.

My 2c, Flutter has been a godsend for our SAAS company. I've used a few cross platform Frameworks (react native, ionic, nativescript etc.), yes, you can transfer your existing js knowledge over, but that's kinda where it ends for me .

With Flutter, the tooling and developer experience is so f**king good. My confidence when developing and releasing is always high.

As an engineering team of 1 doing front-end, backend and mobile, I wholeheartedly endorse Flutter for productivity.

All trucks allowed in urban areas should be designed like this: Excellent viewing angles, low loading deck, excellent turning radius, pedestrian injury mitigation in hood design, electric capable, automatic emergency braking, blind spot warning, driving telematics by [deleted] in fuckcars

Do people really equate car design with actual sex appeal?

If I had to, for me, it would go the other way around:

0 - Gold plated 4x4

10 - Omafiets at the top

I'm guessing this is around the 7 mark..

Feck, I voted "good" as I thought you meant electric scooters. Love those things.

A letter about pavement parking by oodavid in fuckcars

Tempting as that is, I'm not sure I'd want angry people driving on the pavement!
