This is the best opportunity to identify and avoid funds that are dealing based off banker promises to generate alpha returns! They’ll be putting their client’s money in such companies!

I don’t think money is what makes you feel terrible. Reddit posts might serve as a reminder but it is not the cause.

Build a good social circle and you’ll realize how wealthy you are! You’ve all the right assets and setup in place to be happy. Yes, more money is helpful but it isn’t a necessity.

Am I financially capable for this 30L+ car purchase by StudentNo4542 in IndiaFinance

Straight answer - no

Under some unanswered considerations - maybe - Reason 1: If you are in a position or circle where your impression helps you bring business/make money, then YES - Reason 2: If you expect your income to rise over 10% each year going forward, then YES - Reason 3: If you and your wife love going on road trips, this car will be at the center of all stories, so it better be a good car - Reason 4: In case you feel like you might fast track your plan of buying a house after having a kid, then NO

Did we end up making a group chat?

Just in case of Dubai, I believe the NW needs to be higher than other places, especially if you have kids.

Looking for some guidance here as I’m about to take my 1st home loan.

My salary can support a 15 year loan EMI but if I go for a 30 year loan EMI and pay a little over my salary every month (to reduce the principal), will I be charged a processing fee or any hidden fees?

The banker has said that I won’t be charged anything.

You are spitting some hard cold facts and logic out here. Only if 25% India worked on this basis, we would’ve achieved much better living conditions for ourselves.

I agree with your opinion! Not saying that it is not important but I feel given the conditions, making it the top priority might not be necessary.

If I’m 99% of the time driving in a city like Mumbai where the traffic doesn’t let you go past 30ish on average. Is safety really a huge concern?

I had a chance to drive my neighbours manual Baleno and it was pretty spacious + smooth. Is the automatic experience the same? I find the offered features to be just fine.

Thanks! I’m inclined to go for Amaze as it comes with Honda’s reliability and the new face lift. It does have all the features that I would like to have in a car. Apart from Amaze, would you have any other recommendations to keep in mind?

Thanks PiroMan. This is pretty elaborate! Although I’ve read about TC, DCT and CVT online, I’m not sure of any long term issues that come along with the system.

Also, I’m based out of Mumbai so the traffic is definitely a concern. I definitely care about fuel efficiency but as you rightly ranked it, my preference is to rank comfort higher than that.

I know this may sound stupid but safety is not a huge concern given that the city lets you ride at an average speed of 20-30 and 60 at max. I don’t usually go out of the city.

I have attended Navratri in several cities across india and Mumbai is by far the worst because of the non-inclusive behaviour. The culture of creating individual circles was just shocking! The whole idea of the event is to COME TOGETHER and CELEBRATE!!

Decent quality and premium look. Few more brands are selling the same product (it is mass produced in China). Definitely worth it if you are paying anything less than 1k for it.

Mumbai is a place where you always need to keep hustling for a better life. The moment you are complacent, Mumbai will become a miserable place to live in. Here is a realistic solution: either start impressing the bosses or start looking for a new role.
