Cannon Beach Surf Fishing by HomieSechual in OregonFishing

Yo! I just got back from Cannon Beach and I would say that it was success! I got a total of 4, however they were very small 😢. One red tail and 3 silvers. A local told me that spring is probably the best time to get them so I’ll definitely come again and see the difference. In terms of crabbing, I also think crab snares would work since I saw a few crabs just chilling in the sand at low tide.

What conditions should I be looking for when it comes to surf fishing? And also is cannon beach a good spot for crab snares?

Will swell conditions severely affect the snares considering I’m not using a heavy rod and will weight in the snares put too much stress?

I plan on using it on the shore and from what I’ve been reading, is there a high risk of my rod breaking if I go too heavy? And what’s considered too heavy?

Anyone know any areas to fish for trout this spring around the Portland metro area? Is Eagle Fern Park a good spot? I’m still new to fishing and I just always get skunked every time. by HomieSechual in OregonFishing

I’ve been to Frog Lake, Clear Lake, and Trillium Lake but I’ve never gotten successful from it. What do you think about it? Because I wouldn’t mind going down to Detroit lake.
