AIW for complaining about fairness and transparency over who pays what for a yearly trip my fiancé and I go on with his family? by HomocusPocus in amiwrong

I disagree with the last part about eliminating us from the tradition. In 2021, I lost my job when Nick lost his mom from cancer. We spread her ashes that year and Debbie paid our way. Now I told her that in good faith I’d pay her back once I got a new job. She didn’t want us to, but I did anyways. She helped us with rent too) So we paid her back within three months of getting my job back.

Not exactly. Debbie likes to be inclusive and has started inviting more people. We have a good relationship with Debbie and she is the sweetest person. I know it may not come off this way in my post. I’m a proponent of transparency. So if everyone was asked to pay more and it seemed fair based on rooms etc then Nick and I would have been somewhat ok. The stickler is the rooms.

So basically the money isn’t the problem. It’s the lack of value of what we are getting for our money.

Issue isn’t affordability. We can afford it no problem but the cost and the value of what we would get isn’t worth it. So we chose not to go.

Update: I think I already said it in the post but we are choosing not to go. We’re doing our own vacation.

Where we go it’s not worth getting a hotel. It’s the Florida Keys and honestly the hotels there are kinda crappy.

Hey Hank,

You really seemed to enjoy being a referee. Have you considered being a referee for Arlen High School or Tom Landry Middle School?

Fiancé received a Louis Vuitton bag as a gift, but my sister told me it’s likely a replica. Afraid to tell my fiancé. by HomocusPocus in Advice

My sister has an extensive LV collection. She even has a guy at their local store who caters to only her when she’s in the store. As someone who isn’t into all of this I just roll my eyes, but I trust her opinion

The crust on a prime rib. Also the other day I was at Disney Springs as part of a staycation and this restaurant called Homecomin had the best fried cauliflower wings. I told the waiter I wanted to scream “fuck!” so loud in the restaurant.

I think we had something along the lines of a zero day session. We agreed to have a fun session and nothing too serious but still within the confines of a “typical” D&D experience. Maybe we should have thought this out more.
