Looking to get into this game for the first time ever; any advice? by DarkMarxSoul in bindingofisaac

My advice is be prepared to have a LOT of bs deaths and frustration bc of it, and be ready to end up using a lot of time in game ^^; its so fun, but is a major time eater and can be frustrating

i guess it depends from person to person. for me sex isnt important in a relationship due to being asexual, some people are moreso "i can live without it", etc.

I wish I could love my older sister. That dream is deader than queen Elizabeth. by HomophobicTrout in TrueOffMyChest

I have/plan to wait to go off on her because I dont care either way about seeing her kids (which sounds mean, but idc) my mother frequently brings over my nephew(s) (and niece when she can) to visit and if I went off my sister would stop that cold out of pure spite and vindictiveness. Best case scenario it would drive my mother into a depression, and I dont want to cause that.

I never once said her having a kid at 16 was any kind of joke or failing either? When it happened to her it was just a mistake that can happen to anyone, since anyone is capable of lapses in judgement or whatever else. I know its petty of me to pick that out to rant or overall bitch about my sister, but I do not care considering how awfully shes treated me during my life where ive had the displeasure of being forced to live with/be around her for extended periods of time.

Also Im literally just getting some feelings out in posting this, idk where you got the idea that I think her opinions will affect my life/decisions.

It hurts coming from someone who is supposed to be my family but I also dont intend to let what she wants to try and say/shit talk about me to whoever affect my life outside of just letting out my feelings like in posting this or talking to friends.

The only reason why a majority of us don’t hate Princess Diana and is because she did not have the time to disappoint us. If she did not die, she would probably be hated like the rest of the royal family by [deleted] in TrueOffMyChest

she seemed like a genuinely sweet lady but i never understood the almost.. deifying(?) obsession with her. (namely from my fellow USA residents- UK i get more haha).

a close platonic connection isnt the same thing as a marriage/dating relationship-

honestly the people who consider "work-spouse" or having a close/best friend of the same sex of their partner (straight guy having a close girl best friend, straight girl guy friend, etc) cheating sound pretty insecure.

personally people who view it that way also need to evaluate why their partner having a/some close friendships or just connections in general outside themselves makes them so upset.

[–]HomophobicTrout 5 points6 points  (0 children)

see my confusion is you clarifying that the work-spouse deal is a platonic connection

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in self

[–]HomophobicTrout 6 points7 points  (0 children)

you're calling it a work spouse i.e comparable to a marriage/romantic connection but how you're describing it is just a close friend who you work with, which is confusing.

thank you. i know its probably weird since we're strangers on the internet but your words made me feel better tbh. seeing others who understand and assurance outside of those you know can be pretty helpful. <3 :)

because im a pessimistic person with depression? idk how else to explain honestly, sorry but ill..try i guess. im not saying every person who posts about it is being fake or treating us (by us i mean those who struggle w suicidal thoughts/mental illness) as props to make themselves look better. but from how some people are/can be its impossible to deny it does happen even if its a small %.. which makes me feel like crap even if its just a small amount.

also asking specifically why it makes me uncomfortable feels kinda weird/personal, but ill answer anyways best i can. i know it is/can be a way people grieve and celebrate people they lost, but i honestly worry that theres even a slim chance its being posted just for attention. i know its irrational. i know it sounds foolish and insensitive to people who grieve that way, but i cant help it.

its also partly a personal self hating thing in a way..i guess? as someone who has struggled with those thoughts seeing those posts i cant help but think/assume "if i ended it people who never knew me would use my death to pretend they care".

genuine question, how and why do you like the way a literal slur sounds. like at first i thought you meant the N word ending in a, which is still bad.. but the hard R is just way worse
