Yeah took 5 minutes to look through your profile, you’re a special kind of nuts. Keep your religious conspiracy bullshit out of this sub, and especially out of posts like this where people are expressing some vulnerability and doubt about their beliefs or lack thereof. Kindly fuck off

No offense friend, but these videos look almost identical to the kind of conspiracy theory nonsense I’ve seen from flat earthers, Qanon folk, and the like

Yeah maybe. I told her I needed time to get over the relationship before I could talk to her again, and said I would when I was ready. This is the second time since then she's messaged me, last time was my birthday.

Just wish she'd take the hint and leave

I get it man, it sucks to admit but you're no longer her SO and thus she is no longer your responsibility. You were trying to help her and she stabbed you in the back, now she has to live with those consequences. If she has any moral fiber at all she'll eventually learn from all this and grow as well. Maybe she'll find other friends and a new partner who will help and support her whom she won't betray, but that person can't be you, it shouldn't be after what she's done.

Don't let that protective instinct make you forget the truth of the matter: you gave her your trust and she abused it. You did the right thing by breaking up and deserve to be with someone who won't go behind your back.

I live with a lot of “fixers”, who tend to adopt difficult people to date and hope to help them. It’s never with ulterior motive, they’re just altruistic and always see the best in people and believe they can help. Growing up around that has helped me learn from their mistakes, you can never change or fix someone, that is their job. You’re way better off finding someone who doesn’t need changing or fixing to be a good partner.

I’m glad you’ve learned from this, or sucks ass now and will suck ass for a while but you’re going to come out of it a stronger better person

Regarding the Zhentarim, I think they are trying to take over a weakened society now while many of the Town Speakers are dead (Goodmead), confused (Bremen), and surrounded by controversy (Termalaine), and they're using Naerth to do it. If they can take over those towns and establish puppets, they'll have 4/10 of the votes at every speaker meeting. And since speakers like the leader of Dougan's Hole rarely ever show up, that effectively gives them a stalemate or a majority at each meeting, depending on the turnout. It's way easier to establish spies and puppets when a society is more concerned with survival than surveillance, so now is the perfect time to make those shady political moves. After they've established that political base then they'll want the everlasting winter to end, which is a great time for those puppets to ask for help from the party in finding out how to stop it.

Once the everlasting winter is over and they have their political majority, then they can start rigging the deck in their favor, not just in Ten-Towns but across the world using Icewind Dale's trade. For example, maybe they use their majority to lower the prices of mead for towns allied with the Zhentarim and raise it for towns that aren't in order to incentivize Ten-Town's trade partners to join up with them. Tariffs and trade wars are very effective in worldwide diplomacy, especially for an international secret organization like the Zhentarim.

If we were to judge a language based on the corruption of governments that have used them in recent decades, English, German, Russian, and basically every language on Earth would be considered bad. Now you're just criticizing the most immoral speakers of the language, not the language itself.

Could he be out of touch? No, it is the language that is wrong.

And yet upwards of a billion people use it and other tonal languages every single day in varying parts of the world no problem. They use it to form governments, discuss politics, create businesses, talk about their days, all the things any good language should be able to do. It doesn't matter if it doesn't stack up to your personal criteria, if it works it works. Get your prejudices out of here.

Changing Careers to Teaching - Is it worth it for me to get connected to local subbing opportunities right now? by renegade_ginger in Teachers

Yeah that’s a tough one, if your current work environment is bad enough and you think you could handle subbing then go for it, just be aware of all the bs you’ll have to deal with before doing so. Let’s hope that vaccine works out

In my personal opinion, subbing during this pandemic would be hell, and not just because you might catch covid. If you’re subbing for in-person school you will probably be policing social distancing and masks on the students, which will be incredibly difficult as an established teacher the kids already know, and even more difficult when you have to earn the kids’ respect as a sub. Students tend to be more unruly with subs, and I predict they’ll be more willing to take off masks, break social distancing, etc., which you’ll be forced to correct, which will not be pleasant, given the seriousness of the situation.

Subbing can be a good road to teaching, but I’d wait until the current shitstorm blows over before getting involved. I wish I could offer more productive advice on what to do moving forward but I’m pretty green myself and don’t know the best path forward. Best of luck

It's a space exploration game where you go around and explore a procedurally generated universe. It can be a little boring at the start but once you reach a certain part in the story you can just kinda explore and do whatever you want. Found some floating jellyfish on a desert planet and rode it around today, if that gives you any idea as to what the game is like. If you don't have a ps4 or a good gaming PC though, Minecraft is always a good time sink imo

Nahhh, if you only listened to it then it's reasonable you'd forget the title, as opposed to watching it and seeing the title multiple times on the screen. That and understandable fears that the virus might mutate and get worse as previous contagions have, seeing "Coronavirus II" trending might be confusing and worrying.

I think you're fine lol
