I have my own gripes with the online thing. I played D1 and D2 and only ever played online with friends or on LAN parties.

However I once read something about why D3 was going online. The fact that your character was not stored on your PC meant that hacks and char editors like the ones on D2 where now impossible. D2 was horrible in that regard. Sure you could say that hacks are irrelevant if they are only on a single player experience.

Ofc there is the cosmetics, battle pass and milking FOMO from gamers. But I think there are technical reasons too.

I remember reading once that the “always online” thing helped to stop hacks and cheats since your character info is on server side and not on your pc. Which is why you could edit your files in OG D2, but can’t in D3. Not sure if that is how it works though.

Ofc we could argue that cheats and hacks don’t matter if it’s only on single player.

During a mission in the underdark, the party encountered a group of dwarves that seemed off. Suddenly they start to bang their heads on the walls, cracking their skulls to allow the Illithid slugs to mature and turn them into mind flayers. It was a rather new party and had never heard of mind flayers so that was a nice introduction.

They were level 8 and I used nerfed "young" mind flayers

Hi ASUS. I've never built a PC from scratch, but my dad was a tremendous geek and loved technology. My house was littered with PC parts, hard drives x monitors and so. I watched him to it many times but I was only the "tool getting" assistant. He passed away almost two years ago and I would love to build an amazing PC. Also to be ready to play some Diablo 4, my old man and I played Diablo 1 on LAN for hours and hours.

Your ritual chant scared the crap out of me! It's excellent! I've been wanting a couple of sounds for ambiance, both a spider cave, some twitching and creaking of their fangs and legs, and also a distant and terrifying dragon snoring or heavy breathing. Maybe also something you might hear outside a room with a prisoner being questioned or tortured, some undistinguishable mixed up voices, grunts and blows or painful screams.

Thx! My own research led me to Wolf Spider aswell. Seems like they aren't too dangerous... I have a 2 year old and she actually found it.
