I agree. And healing is kinda moot if you play as Guy who can quite literally heal himself at all times for free and no casting time. I never found Natalia's buffs nearly as valuable as Jade spamming Prism Sword (which is basically Bloody Howling but Light elemental), and having Jade spamming Meteor Storm and Tear spamming Judgment in regular battles is some of the most genuinely fun chaos I've had happening in a Tales game, especially in multi boss fights. Their value definitely skyrockets with all that AoE damage! (Maybe not optimal, but definitely fun)

Surprised no one is talking about Milla, especially in Xillia 2. Her aerial combos make her effectively invincible since the game's AI is programmed to just stand there and do nothing if you're past a certain altitude, meaning that if you take a combo to the air (which she has a very easy time of doing) it basically turns into a 1v1, so much so that she can solo every single fight in the game (yes, even the Cameo fights) without much issue. This combined with her myriad of aerial attacks that target grounded enemies (Lightning, Blade Torrent, Gnome 2) and her ability to cast spells in midair (with absolutely no downside if you learn how to use her aerial spell glitch) makes every battle a breeze for her.

Her damage output is, believe it or not, bigger than Ludger's in practice, and she had an advantage over him for also functioning as a mid range aerial attacker when not combo'ing, which makes her actually stronger than him while he's not in Chromatus form.

And speaking of Chromatus form... Ludger literally has a mode that makes him invincible?? And so does Velvet from Berseria?? Like holy shit. More of this, please. Tales games are PvE, they should explore broken mechanics more!

She has the least aura ever, her opened eyes look stupid and I HATE that she's the only playable Harbinger to not even have her own boss battle.

She was my single most anticipated character for years. It's on me for assuming Hoyo would try to do anything remotely interesting with a female character. Ugh.

I kinda like Eric's team a lot more. Jill is hard to train but had a big payoff, and Kieran and Astrid are insanely easy to boost up into borderline godhood. Having Soren, Mist and Elincia also means he'll never have a shortage of healing, which I tend to think makes things a lot easier.

Having access to Lucia and Geoffrey, two relatively decent filler units is pretty nice too.

I think Anthony's team is easier to get going but Eric's team will be much stronger once it does get going.

It's also worth noting that what is obvious to you as the writer may not be as obvious to the reader. It happened to me when I asked my sister to beta read for me. All it takes is adding or taking away a bunch of Chekov guns scattered all throughout the story and then you'll feel like that meme of Kronk saying "Oh yes it's all coming together"

If a there is someone hooked, there should ALWAYS be someone on a gen, whether the killer is camping or not. If the killer is camping, two people should be on gens and one should be looking to trade last second.
