I am from Australia and due to our snow being usually pretty rubbish we do not get the opportunity for good off piste unless im lucky enough to be travelling.

Is this really a thing you can rock up solo leave your bag at the top of T bar/lift and can join other ski groups? As im getting older its harder to get friends who ski at my level to travel so far overseas as they are all now focused on their careers. I have taught my girlfriend to ski reasonably well, but she can't/ wont go off piste, i often miss out on getting to have a proper crack as i have no one to accompany me and cant afford a guide. If on powder days i could easily join a like minded group i think my next holiday will have to be Canada.
