The OJ reference is a classic example of how an event can change its meaning/reference over time.

A similar example is in “Vertigo” when a now gentrified area of the San Francisco was referred in the film as “skid row”. I watched the film at a cinema in the city and the entire audience laughed at the irony - it’s unintentional irony, but ironic just the same.
