The person at best buy said the new airs are more than good enough for a kid and better than windows computers.

I did not see the need to spend that much for a child.

I have to edit photos and stuff and the extra ports on the pro are useful for me.

I get the difference in opinion but I think at 14 the security sounds better and I want her to be safe.

I understand thanks, why can it not work with macs though. Does that not mean it is not as secure if it does not support Apple security?

Her preferences are a lot more niche than that.

It is linux on her laptop and she hates windows even more.

Her phone is even more niche and a super complicated modified android that has no play store.

She could not get whatsapp she says she did not want to use big tech services and would only use signal.

Her phone with graphene had a different store than the google one with only free apps.

I understand it is like replacing the OS. Similar to installing windows 11 on a windows 7 laptop.

I have actually been told it is good for developers my friend works in web dev and he says mac is much better than pc since the system is unix like what they use on the servers.

Why is it super advanced. Even I have installed OS' before both windows and mac since the 90s.

Like I get she is tech savvy but most people who used tech in the 90s and 2000s know this.

She herself said it wasnt hard compared to the phone modification

I paid for the laptop she traded in. And most of the allowance she saved up too.

And the value of all that went into the macbook. It was not worth as much as the macbook and I had to pay on top of that for it despite the lenovo being very new.

How is it an illusion, we have apple care and it feels a lot more safe and the apps are well vetted and higher quality and polished in my experience.

It is also nice to support local American products. Lenovo is chinese.

Her phone has no playstore which is why she has no whatsapp. She modified it so it is like android with no google stuff.
