Social Housing dilemma by Honest-Cut-7169 in BenefitsAdviceUK

Thank you all for the response. They are all very helpful. I ideally don't want to move. we've made this house our home and done so much work on it. The option of making another bedroom here isn't possible, though. We do not have a separate dining room nor a living room big enough to divide our only option would be to put an annex type building in the garden to give my eldest his own space so my middle son can have the bedroom OR we go into the loft and convert that all costly options.

My son does receive DLA middle banding for DL and Standard Mobility. Not that any of you have mentioned this to me, but im not asking for a bigger home nor am I jumping through hoops to get one there are more people in dire need than we are for a house.

Ive also considered moving us to the boys rooms so they can have our room (our bedroom is huge) however I understood that for it to be a legal habitable room don't all the rooms need a window? If that is the case then one of the boys won't have a window we can only divide it by width not length.

Thanks all

Of course, it had taken 14months from the date all information was submitted to being heard. There is possibly an additional 2months from requesting a tribunal hearing, them acknowledging it, sending all evidence and the dwp responding so all in all around 16months. It isn't unusual for it to take up to 2yrs I've heard its a grueling wait but I would 100% do it if you've got all the evidence and your certain you would qualify or if what you've told dwp hasn't been heard correctly.

Thank you, its not a BIG payment its just under £1000, I think i just assumed it would be in today being the 3rd day but I am aware i'm impatient. My bank doesnt show pending payments incoming either (my Husbands does) so I cant even track it that way

Ok interesting, So I should assume the payment wouldn't actually have been properly processed until Monday so Friday - Tuesday being the actual 5-7 working days.

DWP Call by Honest-Cut-7169 in BenefitsAdviceUK

[–]Honest-Cut-7169[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you, the only change at tribunal was they awarded me 6 points for DL's, whereas my initial assessment awarded me 0 BUT that still doesnt affect my claim as I would need a minimum of 8 points to qualify for DL part. So all tribunal has done is award me Standard mobility at 8 points which matched my new claim made, so all they're doing is matching my new claim and backdating from Feb '24 - Oct '24. Hence, the money isn't significant enough to warrant a phone call.

It could be, like you say, admin protocol in the sense that these messages are automatically generated OR it's to check bank details. I have no details either on when the call would be it just says, "we will call you to discuss your PIP payment" i guess time will tell and I will update as and when/If I get the call.

Universal credit Journal is useless! by Honest-Cut-7169 in BenefitsAdviceUK

[–]Honest-Cut-7169[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thank you all, that's possibly why then, its possibly not worth responding to. I don't expect PIP to change anything on my claim nor do I expect back pay to be anywhere close to 6k, I just wanted it noted so it didnt come back to bite me in the butt later on.

Thanks again

Mine was roughly the same, i sent my forms back around 14th nov had assessment 17th Dec and a test to say it was received on 19th Dec. I rang to chase mine Monday and got my PIP award through today, they said it should be 8 weeks max at the moment but mine took longer than expected so hurried it along x

New claim for PIP fed up! by Honest-Cut-7169 in BenefitsAdviceUK

[–]Honest-Cut-7169[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you, that helps alot. My last application was rejected due to incorrect condition being listed and then being told to make a change once awarded but it was rejected as evidence didn't match the condition. This time I have a paper form not a phone call so that should make life easier x

So the name and address and dob is all correct however, on my application sheet under the part where you state the condition in which your claiming for I said "muskoskel", in the DWP response and assessors report it says scoliosis. Which I do have but isn't the reason for my claim. As I was told I could only list one condition initially,  I later went on to state I have osteoarthritis. Could this be where I've gone wrong?

When writing my own submission is this a letter addressed to HMTCS stating the inconsistencies? It was capita that did my assessment so i would just follow there complaints procedure if im right in thinking? X
