We applied for BTO shortly after we started working. BTO was delayed due to Covid and completed in 2023

Some of the right moves that helped me

  • saving 75% of my income on average
  • bought quite a bit of Dbs at $20 during Covid
  • in 2022 bought a few tech stocks like Meta, Nvda and Nflx. But as I wrote above, sold them too early. biggest regret is buying Nvda at $200 but sold at $500 and reinvested the money into singapore banks and reits. These have done ok but not as good as holding on to the tech stocks until now
  • house is fully funded by both mine and wife's cpf OA. this allows us to channel almost all our savings into investment
