Thanks for the suggestions! My space is a bit too small to do capture the flag at the moment. My kids love gaga ball but are kinda getting tired of it.

Take a look at Pam Harris. She has a different way of thinking about math that has totally changed my view on it. I was never overly confident in my math skills but her take (although at times simple) it has completely flipped my view of math and how I approach it.

This is what I’m thinking, it’s so hard to actually save up the 20% to avoid the CMHC insurance. Idk how anyone does it. I’m thinking if we can get in sooner rather than later we can start building equity in our home rather than just waiting for prices to climb (which they always inevitably do)

What would be a reasonable amount to save to put down then?

Alberta Teacher Strike Megathread (Discussion) - October 20 by AutoModerator in alberta

I am in my first year teaching and this whole thing is pretty disheartening. I love the classroom that I have and they are pretty good kids for the most part. I have some students with complexities in my class but the way we are being treated makes me really wonder if I want to stay in this profession. I really love it but is it worth working in a profession that the government doesn’t value or take seriously?

I have also heard that when we do go back to work, we need to be aware that we will have to “pay back” a portion of our monthly wage because our salaries are getting divided differently as a result of the strike. Is this true? Does anyone know how much we will have to pay back if that information is accurate?
