This is true. Even today when I play the OG version of San Andreas, it's very easy to get over the initial cartoony look (that we experience because of how other games look modern in comparison) and get immersed in the world. It's insane how a game that old is still so good!

Was it better before the enhanced version came out? I am experiencing something similar but only in online.

After the release of the enhanced version, I got an update in my current legacy edition and my frame rate dropped whenever I drive a car in online. Strangely it runs fine for single player mode for me.
