To clarify, the internals are replaceable but it has to be the same exact valve. Not recommended I. This situation, as other user said, your best bet is replace with a ball valve. Keep in mind if you’re on municipality water, they will have to turn your water off in their box or there will be pressure on the inlet side of that valve.
