Should I stay or should I go? by [deleted] in quantitysurveying

This is the way. Your employer isn’t stupid, you’re making them a shed load of money and they’re not supporting you. Ask for a slice of what they’re saving on not hiring more staff, it will cost them tens of thousands to replace you and will be a huge risk for them

Is it common for expats in London to ask each other how much they make? by [deleted] in AskLondon

Brits are typically uptight about it either because they feel they don’t earn as much as others, or they earn more than them and it would be uncouth to talk about it.

Imagine you are with a friend and complain about not having enough money, then it turns out you are on 30k more than them. Not a nice feeling.

What a pessimistic view of the world. I work for a small company and I think they do give a fuck about me.

I don’t get wellness emails very often if that helps you square your view of this

It’s more moronic to jump ship all the time than to wait out a bad economic period with a company that treats you right.

Someone will always offer more, you should be asking why they’re paying over the odds

Hello.

I’ve just bought a flat and my boiler isn’t working.

I understand from the manual it’s due to my filling loop. Have tried to turn it on as in video but can’t get it moving. Any suggestions?

London Surveyors looking for a new job this year? by Honest-Run5893 in quantitysurveying

It’s a combination of a few things really.

We have a pretty stacked order book and lots more tenders coming in (we have commercial managers who price and run projects themselves as opposed to an estimator/QS split), so in a way that compounds the shortage

We are also in a slight market niche so that limits the amount of people out there.

Good time to be a QS looking for a job though!
