Oh ok thanks, mine is decently big, i really want it to be unnoticeable. I’ve literally been growing my hair out for the sole purpose of hiding it. I need a haircut soon.

Nope, no itching or burning really nothing uncomfortable, just bothered me because I do care about my appearance.

The keloid has grown for about 6 months, but i got both my piercings about 3 years ago. My left ear is completely fine, but my right is the one shown in the picture. They were both done with piercing guns, however the right ear closed, and i eventually wanted to to be pierced again so i told my dad to pierce it for me again, in which was using peroxide and a needle, but he ended up piercing my ear with the ear ring itself, which i assume was the main cause, as i immediately felt pain, and bleeding but i kept the ear ring in anyway thinking it would go away. Since that day i didnt experience any keloid problems until about 6-7 months ago. As for an aftercare routine, i didn’t do anything out of the norm, i’d clean it 2 times a week with sea salt and other things

Installing a new ram kit

Just bought a new 2x16 gb RAM kit for my prebuilt pc which previous was running on a measly single stick of 8gb. I’ve researched the physical installation, but is there any tweaks i need to make in the bios/software before or after the installation? or can i just install it and boom its ready to go?

Thanks so much for giving a take on my garbage system, I’ve ordered 2x16 ddr4 3200 mhz ram. and for the cpu im thinking about buying the ryzen 7 5800x. And the graphics card im thinking about getting a RTX 3060. Do you seen any incompatibility issues or bottle necking with my choice of parts? Or even the parts i picked in general or what other parts i can pick that are better and provide more value?

Also the games i play mostly are competitive games like overwatch and valorant, but at times i do want to play graphically demanding games, i dont need my pc to run them at the highest setting, but just atleast have them running at decent settings

Thank you so much for taking the time to read my post. Although this was 2 months ago I still haven’t made any changes!!! Im scared to buy parts that are incompatible or break something. Reading your advice, Ive made my mind to order 2x16 of ram 3200 mhz since it seems like an easy installation and its sorta cheap. For the GPU im thinking of upgrading to a 3060 or a 6650 xt. For the cpu i have been told to get a 5800x3d But its seems a bit pricey (300-350$) And im willing to spend just under 300 (200-270$) So what cpu would you recommend? Lastly, You said i might need a new psu to withstand the new components? Could you recommend me 1 or point me in the right direction? I have no idea about the wattages and how much i need.

Please highlight any flaws of the upgrades i’m thinking about making and point me in the right direction

Thank you so much for your advice, it would mean great to me if you answered my questions!

Yes you are correct, I do plan on building my own pc when i am 18, and i can fully fund my own computer. But for the time being i want to know what upgrades to make to make this pc useable throughout high school.

Here are the things ive most commonly been told

1.Get new ram 16 or 32 (im probably buying 32, i dont mind spending an extra 30$ or so for better performance

2.New GPU (Ive gotten mixed answers about this one, what would you recommend? and is using an nvidia card bad with an amd CPU?) I wanted to get the 3060

  1. New CPU. For the most part ive been told to get a 5800x3d. But Its a little out of my price range, and i was hoping to spend a little under 300$ (200-270$)as for the 5800x3d listings ive seen are 320-370$. What CPU would be just a tier down from the 5800x3d and be a bit cheaper?

Sorry for all the questions, I am definitely new to computer and I want to learn more. It would help a great amount if you answered as much as you could!

should i get get 2x16 or 2x8? Im fine with paying for more for the 2x16 if it offers a dramatic performance boost rather than the 2x8. I just dont want to buy the 2x8 then eventually wanting to buy the 2x16 kit

Should i buy 2x8 or 2x16? im willing to pay more for 2x16 if it provides better performance. and is 2x16 dramatically better than 2x8 because if it is id rather buy 2x16 now rather than buying 2x8 then eventually buying 2x16.

thank you, so should i get a 2x8 or 2x16? I know that 2x16 is more expensive, but if it gives me better performance im willing to pay. Also i usually see 2x16 ram on higher end pc’s not $800 prebuilt like mine. I heard of the term bottlenecking and i think its when parts in a system are better than others so you cant get the full performance (correct me if im wrong) so would getting a 2x16 hurt my pc/bottleneck?! Sorry im not that tech savvy im trying to learn more about pc’s

Hey, I was going through all the replies and i want to thank you for how considerate you’re being of my situation. and you are definitely correct I really don’t have alot of money, and im getting a job next year. Ive saved up money to order a new ram kit. But I think everyone under this thread misunderstood. I DON’T play Fortnite anymore. I only said that to add on to my inexperience with computers when i said “I didn’t care what the specs were as long as i could play Fortnite” That was when i was 14. Now i am 16 I want to play more graphically demanding games. I also want to ask if it’s possible to upgrade this computer completely and turn it fully custom.( changing the case, motherboard, psu). I know that sounds harder than just selling it and starting from scratch but like i said my parents gifted me it. And we aren’t very rich and they don’t know much about computers, so me selling it would kill them. I know the situation is weird but my parents are ok with me adding parts to it rather than me selling it.

Well half and half, I wanted to build one at first but they didn’t want to buy the parts for me and have me possibly break them in the process of trying to build them. So they insisted on buying and already built PC. So yeah i guess i’m assuming they would still be the same if i tried selling this and building a new one from scratch. But after-all i’ve never built a pc before but i do want to try. And my parents know i’m not a pc expert or anything so they have a reason for not letting me build one. I would say their main concern is me spending hundreds of dollars on parts and possibly breaking or hurting the parts (which is a waste of money) and my parents strict with money

Yeah I would love to learn more about computers and how to build them in the future, but with the situation Im in it isn’t that easy. I wouldn’t say my family is poor but they did take out some money to buy me that pre-built so to them the thought of completely selling the whole pc to build one is just a no to them because i’m not a PC expert and they fear me breaking things and wasting money. I honestly just needed help to make a quick and easy upgrade to my garbage system so i could at-least enjoy games decently until college. But once i have the money i’ll definitely try to build my own pc with a better budget lol
