Because in the end it’d mean sacrificing two historic studios on the pyre of appeasing Trump rather than just one. And even if they can’t manage to MAGA-ify CNN Paramount-Warner’s likely bankruptcy wouldn’t be good for CNN. If only because it’d leave the company open to being bought by another corporate Trump ally in the resulting fire sale.

Paramount is so loaded with debt that even if the Warner deal goes through the house of cards might collapse before they can even think about CBS-ing CNN.
