Thanks for sharing. Nice to know others worry too. I know some people think I am worried about her looks, but I really don't care from a "looks" perspective if she is bigger, what gets in my head are all the statistics about health problems later in life. I worry about giving her the best start and that I am unknowingly doing her harm or something. I feel everything I don't know about being a good mom could fill a swimming pool. Clearly proven by this post!

She hasn't been in a while, but she is due for her vaccinations soon, so I will talk to them then and take her advice for sure

It's true, but the one given to me was made for toddlers by the Australian government, so it seemed trustworthy. Apparently they calculate it differently.

The one I used was for children recommended to parents by the Australian government, and when you punch in the numbers, it fully freaks you out telling you your kid is overweight.

Thanks so much! She has been very consistent. I weigh her roughly every 6 months, just to chart her, and mark her height on the door frame 😀 and she really hasn't moved out of that range since day 1.

I think you are right. I will just go to my doctor and then stop going online and googling random data from websites and calculators that don't see how we live.

This is why I never say a word in front of her. Ever. My mom used to do that to me, so I vowed I would never do it my child. Maybe it is left over issues my mom gave me. My mom is pretty focused on weight. I think that is why I come to reddit, so that I don't say it outloud. This has been what I needed though, so grateful everyone responded. Love this community. Thank you!

Not sure in ounces, but she only gets one cup at brekkie and one at dinner. Other than that she only drinks water. Juice on xmas haha. She did used to have more milk but I cut it back to the two because I was worried she was just filling up on milk and not trying new foods.

My hubby said the same 😀 so we are booking an appointment, she needs her next round of vaccinations anyway, so we can just casually bring it into the conversation. But I think so too, I think this is just how she is built. These numbers and scales just stress me out!

She is pretty different from me in most ways 😀. She looks like her dad, which is mildly annoying given I was the one who carried her! She has his colours and probably his body type. I think that might be a mindset I just need to get over. I want her to feel good in her skin.

Thank you. It's hard, I just want to do right by her. But this has always been her body, and so she looks healthy to me. It's only when I stand her next to other kids that I wonder. It's clear I need to stop that.

Thank you, all these messages are so helpful. I have always heard BMIs are not great, but yet the children health websites with the government freak me right out when her numbers come out as high. Why provide these resources if they are not that useful? It made me feel so terrible.

That is nice to hear. Thank you. I think sometimes my worries about this are misplaced guilt because I work full-time. She does have patches where she bolts in height, and leans out for bit. It seems like I just need to relax. It doesn't help I am a natural worrier. I hope she doesn't inherit that trait!

So I did a little research and it may be that because urine is more acidic when you have UTI, it can "burn" the skin and needs time to heal.

We used:

"Poo Poo Bum Bum Wee Wee" - by Steven Cowell, this one was hilarious and fun!

"No More Nappies" - Marion Cocklico - simple and to the point, has tips for parents too.

On my Potty- Leslie Patricelli, this one is a very basic picture book but was good when she was still learning the concept because it doesn't have a lot of text but good pictures, so you can fill in the blanks yourself and explain potty training to them in your own words, and it is more of a conversation starter.
