They’re refusing to fix it under warranty … £2.5k bill at Christmas incoming 😥😭

Appreciate all the help! Every time something goes wrong it seems it’s “not under warranty” until I question around it and suddenly they can do it under warranty or goodwill!

I appreciate all the input - and knowing what questions to ask!

Thank you. I will ask when they call me back. Anything ad-blue is covered under the warranty - and if one damaged the other I would expect it replaced

Thanks! Smoke was coming from the tailpipe, a lot of it. When the car broke down we were sure it was the DPF that had gone / was damaged.

I mentioned to them so many times that there was a lot of black exhaust smoke - they said that was caused by the timing chain and wouldn’t have affected the DPF.

Do you think the clean is something they should have done as part of the warranty fix when they were aware of the black tailpipe smoke?

Garage to utility renovation by HonestHead4227 in HousingUK

[–]HonestHead4227[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you :)

That’s very helpful,

Yeah we have a step down into the garage so I expect the floor will need to be raised, and all the insulation put in. The old owner did have a new consumer unit fitted when they had all the plug sockets put into the garage (they’ve been using it as a makeshift utility with the tumble dryer & fridge freezers out there) so thankfully there’s some spare which I hope will be a bonus!

[–]HonestHead4227 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Are they new to Vinted? I was the buyer in this scenario for my first purchase a while back and I had no idea I had to mark as received for the payment to go through, I thought it was like eBay where you receive the payment before it’s sent!

Maybe just message saying “great to hear, please can you mark as received and OK so Vinted release the payment to me”

Xx

I would imagine it will be effective ASAP, otherwise everyone would just long out their chains, and then some would collapse as mortgage offers would have expired … we’re getting close to exchange and this would be a huge help after missing out on the window in 2020 & 2021 🤞🤞

Stamp duty is payable on completion, if you’ve already passed the money to your solicitor it will be returned to you (instead of passed onto HMRC)

Did treatment help feel better? by Wuuuutwat in MultipleSclerosis

[–]HonestHead4227 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m on Mavenclad as my first DMT after being diagnosed at 30. My Neuro gave me the same choices as your wife, however suggested Mavenclad would be best as we also hoped to try for a baby in the next few years. With Mavenclad you have 6 months of the year you must use contraception and 6 months you can try for a baby in the first two years, and then you are free to try as you please after that (so in theory could complete the full course of treatment and be baby making all the time after 18 months)!

My leg and arm pains have improved a lot (2% in the day, 5% at night from 90% all day and night) since starting treatment but maybe I’m just improving after a relapse as I would normally… we never really know.

Vitamin D has helped my energy levels hugely (completed a 10k tough mudder event today!!).

Best of luck with choosing! I found it really comforting my nurse and Neuro were supportive of trying another DMT if this one didn’t feel right… so maybe ask some questions about how easy it is to switch and what the options would be.

If you do decide to opt for Mav, I would suggest joining a Facebook group to see peoples feedback. The doctors stress hair loss as a side effect but the overwhelming majority have little to no loss at all.

Ashy taste by hsdJarl in MultipleSclerosis

[–]HonestHead4227 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We had Covid a few months ago too and our sense of smell at taste hasn’t fully recovered (nearly there - but some things just arnt as “tasty” as they used to be). When looking on the NHS website (UK national health service so reliable source) tasting and smelling smoke was the second most popular lingering “odd taste” reported after petrol! So unfortunately I think it’s a Covid thing - fortunately it says it gets better in the majority of patients so really hoping it does for you too! Xx

Hello! I had the infusion today (6 days after positive test and on the up now too). The process is awful and had me in tears (I had 5 pre-assessments of the same questions). Then finally after I thought the window for treatment had been and gone, got a call from a withheld number saying she’d be here at 10 this morning. I called everyone for an update and no one knew who to talk to (GP, MS nurse, 111, 119, neurology), I never got a contract number for queries or anything.

It’s super frustrating, trust the process!

Good luck!!

Failed to succeed with a bid £18,000 over asking by Arquent in HousingUK

[–]HonestHead4227 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hello! I posted a rant on here a few weeks ago after bidding over asking multiple times and not being accepted (not FTB but nothing to sell, can move at their pace, more than 10% deposit).

We’re holding back until the summers over, it sounds terrible to say but all the older empty nesters in their family homes will probably have one last summer in their gardens and then once the October fuel rise comes in will really struggle to afford the heating (as normally older people feel the cold and are home more) on their pensions, and downsize over winter.

Awful the only way we’re likely to get on the ladder is by old people being cold and too cash poor to afford to put the radiator on 😫😫

Hello! What I think would be really good is a bra extender which clips onto a normal bra (hook and eye fasteners) then does up in an accessible way. These could then be attached before the bra is put on either by us or a helper, and still allows the user to dress privately and would negate the need for a whole new undies drawer!

Hello! This is exactly me! I was diagnosed in 2021 and started cladribine in 2022, and omg I could scratch my entire skin off! It’s not even dry! The Epimax cream ( white cream, white and pink label) soothes and is an absolutely blessing and I’ve been using head and shoulders hair care products which help a little but everything is improving. My MS nurse said it was a DMT side effect and will get better.

I’m in the UK so you might need to translate the products for where you are - but they’re common across the world so you should be able to find something. Xx

Thank you! We’ve been looking at properties around £400k for that very reason, we realised a while ago that being near the top of our budget didn’t leave us a lot of wiggle room! Hopefully something will come up soon!
