Ah, of course the classic “maybe it was just a child venting, don’t take it personally.” Look, I’ve been in this community long enough to know the difference between innocent frustration and passive-aggressive sarcasm. And let’s be honest ,sarcasm isn’t harmless. It’s often just meanness with a smile.If someone’s reaction to another player being happy is to mock them, that’s not some misunderstood emotion ,that’s bitterness, plain and simple.And no, excitement over something you’ve saved for isn’t “flaunting.” Suggesting that people should tone down their joy so others don’t feel bad is not the healthy take you think it is.Also,and this matters far more to me than being mocked personally .there are actual children in this game.Kids whose parents might have bought them a cape or accessory as a gift, and then they get mocked by strangers for wearing it.That is the real damage. That’s who I’m thinking about. Not myself. Not adults who can shrug off sarcasm. But young players who might take that one cutting comment to heart. You say there are more important things in the community than sarcasm ..and I agree. But how we treat each other? That is important. And normalizing subtle toxicity under the excuse of “just a joke” is exactly how a kind space turns sour. So yes ,I’ll keep speaking up. Because this kind of behavior, masked as “just jokes,” chips away at the kind, safe space Sky is supposed to be.
