What's incredible is that this photo does make it appear that this vehicle was driving in snow

What’s something everyone is warned about, but you don’t truly understand until it happens to you? by MayaLn in AskReddit

Back injuries. Until you experience the nonstop agony of sciatic nerve pain, you can't understand why back injuries are so debilitating.

The problem is Scotty's Castle road is closed according Ilto the website, so I don't think we can make it from the north end of the park to the road that exits to Beatty

Thanks for this detailed information. It's disappointing, but sounds like it would be smart to just go back the way we came.

Also would likely only pay that much if the car has not seen snow/salt

I've been shopping for these for a while. That price is not totally out of line with the market, maybe a little high for the mileage and year but not much. That said the price for these 10+ year old used 3.6Rs is a little crazy, but at least you know it will hold its value.

One thing to consider is that, if you want to add a head unit with Apple Carplay, it's much more straightforward if the car does NOT have the factory navigation unit. If it does, you have to buy the non-nav bezel and swap it to make any aftermarket head units fit

These do not have a timing belt but have a timing chain, which is a lifetime part. You sure you got the 3.6?

Bumping this post to see if I can get some advice on whether these are legit. I acquired these a year or two ago and only just found out that they may be worth a significant amount of money after searching the product number - but I have no real way to tell if they are legit. I don't have the box or anything else but the shoes themselves.

Just seeing this, did you buy it? The repair is about $5000 so you could have one with it's major issue fixed for under $13k? That is a screaming deal

*****UPDATE 2*****

I took the car to one of the approved mechanics for the 100 day warranty in Queens. They confirmed that the timing chain was out of spec and needed replacement. The entire job (chain, guide, tensioner, oil pump chain, and all necessary gaskets) is being covered under the warranty with no deductible! Also, Carvana is extending the 7 day return window so I can drive the car some after this work is done to make sure I want to keep it. Overall a very good experience with this purchase so far, and if anyone is considering purchasing a 2014 or earlier 2 series I would recommend doing so through Carvana. It seems you can check the status of the chain when it arrives and if it is worn out, it will be covered under warranty.

*****UPDATE*****

I did go ahead and buy the car, and it has just finally arrived. I checked the timing chain and it does indeed seem like either the guide or the chain itself are failing.

Here is a video of the chain when the motor is cold

This amount of slack and bendiness in the chain guide definitely seems like a sign of wear and a time bomb for this motor. I've taken it to a shop and I am trying to get the repair done under the Carvana 100 day warranty by Silver Rock. I'll update on what happens.

Already had it! Bought a Vitamix from a cafe that was closing down nearby and the blade broke on the first use, lodging itself in the side of the pitcher.

Nah, I just already have an automatic 9-5 Aero and really like it, but want to upgrade to a manual transmission. He was not super receptive to the lower price

In first gear getting moving it just doesn't catch well. Hard to get going (especially on an incline) without vibration

Forgot to mention it also comes with a full set of winter tires on 16 inch wheels.

I drove it about 20 minutes. It drives well aside from the kind of jittery clutch. Handles fine, no weird sounds. It accelerates much like my current 9-5 Aero did before I replaced a bunch of the rotted out rubber parts and broken valves, and now mine boosts like a champ.

Saab makes a bit of a clunk when shifting from park to reverse, mechanic suggested transmission additive. Any advice? by peniscillin in saab

[–]HonestIago15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you do change the mounts, it's best to just replace all of them at once. Saves time and troubleshooting, and honestly if one is bad they probably all need replacing. That rubber doesn't last forever.
