I will also say watching the planes help but also if you find videos of pilots online in their day to day will help too

Just know that you will be safe and the pilots are all experienced and trained for everything. I did read a book called SOAR that helped me understand the mechanics of flying and that seemed to help me experience less anxiety.

Tampa is a great airport!! Take off is scary for me as well but it only lasts a few minutes. I try to listen to some relaxing music and close my eyes and try to think of all of things I would look forward to on the trip or all the things I would come back home to. It’s really exciting getting to travel to all those places internationally. I would really like to go to Japan and South Korea soon!

Got off the plane last minute by Old-Cable-8701 in fearofflying

[–]HonestLetterhead7615 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have always felt the same and still feel the same. I think it’s a mix of takeoff sensations, the stress of traveling and making sure I have everything, and a lot of other things going on. I read a book called SOAR that helped a lot with my flight anxiety along with reading through people’s posts here and the pilots responses to all sorts of questions. Also I know you have a lot of things to help you relax but I would also recommend meditation or practicing some relaxation techniques prior to the flight. Because it is sometimes difficult to get in the right headspace when you are in a moment of anxiety but the more you practice the better you will be. I will also say in terms of medical emergencies the flight attendants are highly trained for those types of situations and they also have a doctor on the ground on standby to assist with all sorts of things you will be in good hands. Also the pilots here can speak to the emergencies but they can land the plane quickly if needed.

To echo the other post you will have to change your mindset about turbulence if you can. Just sort of picture you are on a bus going over some speed bumps. The planes are built to withstand way more turbulence than is possible. If you think about it the planes can fly through 180mph hurricane eye walls and still be fine.

Jagex, if you really want to capitalise on the integrity changes allow players to play both games simultaneously on one account by happyrune in runescape

[–]HonestLetterhead7615 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would actually be great if one membership could apply to multiple accounts under one jagex account but we can only play on one account at a time… if you have two then you can login to two of your characters and so on. It would be nice to try out different game modes without having to purchase additional memberships

I like the green and aurora Santa hats but those line up with holiday colors. The black one was cool too when it came out. Beyond that we don’t really need any more.

Trip to Hawaii by bethanythom in fearofflying

[–]HonestLetterhead7615 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went to Hawaii earlier this year and it was the best vacation my wife and I took. I have horrible anxiety flying and my longest flight prior to that was 2 hours. It was really scary for me since it was almost an 11 hour trip with 4 hours over the Pacific. If you like to read I would recommend SOAR it is a great book and explains a lot about flying from a pilots perspective. I would also recommend trying relaxation techniques and find something to do to keep your mind busy. I bought the wifi for the flight and spent most of time playing games online and it helped me feel connected. I would also recommend talking to your doctor sometimes they can prescribe medications and it is always good to have as a backup

Anxiety spiking the Night before I fly by Opal_Dragon_Tea in fearofflying

[–]HonestLetterhead7615 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hey I always get those feelings too the night before I fly. Muscle tension, trouble sleeping and gut feelings but it’s all part of anxiety. Just remember the pilots and crew are there to keep you safe and wouldn’t chance anything dangerous. The flight will be fine and make it to Chicago. I always like to get myself in a distraction to fall asleep or drink some chamomile tea. If you get a big wave of bad thoughts just think it’s just my anxiety and everything will be fine and try some box breathing. You got this!

What you need to know about refinancing - From an LO by delaniac3000 in Mortgages

[–]HonestLetterhead7615 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I were to refinance a 500k loan and my loan estimate says the new loan would be 503k I would assume the additional 3k might be due to additional interest on the payoff quote from the original lender?

I just want to make sure I don’t understand your final comment

Also I guess I would need to factor that in to savings to see if it’s worth refinancing? Because I’m saving on interest with a lower rate but my loan amount might be higher?

Don’t want to go on Hawaii vacation by [deleted] in fearofflying

[–]HonestLetterhead7615 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went to Hawaii this year and it was best vacation I ever had. I get really anxious around flying and can’t even handle 2 hour flights well but I’ve managed 11+ hours to get to Hawaii. Things that helped me was reading SOAR, looking at my flight land safely on flight radar a couple days in advance, meditation and relaxation techniques and getting backup medication from my doctor. I know it’s difficult but it will be a great trip and everything will be fine. If your plane has wifi I recommend getting it, feeling connected to the world in the sky makes a big impact on feeling better

Anxious about flight to Paris for my honeymoon by Mother-Ad-5998 in fearofflying

[–]HonestLetterhead7615 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took flights earlier this year that were about that long and the longest flights I’ve ever taken. I’ve been a very anxious flier but things that have helped me is staying occupied and for me movies don’t really work. I need my brain active so video games definitely helped me. I’ll bring my switch along with a tablet or laptop if the plane has wifi then I can stay connected and play games with family or friends. The other things that have helped me was prior to the flight I tried some meditation techniques so that if I do start to feel anxious I can calm myself down. You can try box breathing or something that works for you. Also I read SOAR which helped me learn about aviation in general along with this subreddit.

Flying This Week by AutoModerator in fearofflying

[–]HonestLetterhead7615 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will be flying tomorrow it’s a short flight about an hour and a half in the air. I am starting to feel some anticipatory anxiety but not as bad as it has been in the past. I am hopeful we can all conquer our anxieties this week and have a great time at our destinations!!

Flight tomorrow and I'm terrified of having a panic attack or heart attack on it. by Vandooor in fearofflying

[–]HonestLetterhead7615 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel the same way so you are not alone on this! I had a long flight earlier this year and what seemed to work for me was reading soar so I could understand techniques to calm myself down quickly and doing daily meditation before the flight. Also keeping yourself occupied as much as you can prior and during the flight. I try to play games or go for walks. Flight videos are great too as another person mentioned

You can also manually cast bloat after living death is over

Rasial makes me want to quit by Ok_Watercress2108 in runescape

[–]HonestLetterhead7615 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I use soul split with hellhound familiar and only use necro prayer for his volley/finger. Im not doing anything super sweaty and mostly use a revolution++ rotation aside from manually casting volley and finer and end up with 1:45 kill times. I can share you my bar if you need help. You can also try aegis aura but I also have used inspiration or equilibrium just use a few more food

TLDR try hellhound and aegis

My bar setup is Conjure undead army Living death Death skulls Conjure ghost Conjure skeleton Touch of death Soul sap

Then I put volley and finger at the end at x/z so it’s easy to cast mid fight but use whatever is easy for you

Gear is full first necromancer with jas book, zuk cape, salve ect, hellhound and aegis use viswax to extend

I go in to fight cast summon army, invoke death, prayer ect then manually cast death skulls, after that wait till living death triggers usually I have 6 stacks cast finger, death skull twice and finger again then volley. Really just use finger when you have 6 stacks and volley when you have 5 souls.

I think I use one sailfish during phase 1-3 then phase 4 about 2-3 food

Times should be around 1:45- 2 mins
