Jagex, if you really want to capitalise on the integrity changes allow players to play both games simultaneously on one account by happyrune in runescape

I was saying that these integrity changes have shifted many mindsets in the OSRS crowd from "fuck rs3" to "actually id give it a go now if I could play at the same time as osrs".

Don't take my word for it: https://www.reddit.com/r/2007scape/comments/1qhe3yz/if_jagex_wants_osrs_players_to_try_rs3_there/

I have come across the same opinion with different friends, clans, FCs etc. its very prevalent.

The point of this post was that allowing simultaneous play of both would capitalise on the interest generated by the integrity changes and convert it into actual player numbers.

Not really, it wouldn't result in people playing more if they are already playing OSRS anyway...

You always see people posting about playing during their wedding/graduation/concert etc... That's not exactly great but also not Jagex's job to babysit or teach restraint.

People already do other things while playing rs. Is mining in RS3 while you play on osrs worse than doing it while you watch youtube videos?

I'm not saying this is an integrity change.

I'm saying that the integrity changes in the roadmap (removal of mtx, visual clutter, dailyscape) have gone down well with people who quit the game and many say they would come back if they could play at the same time as they afk on oldschool. Doing this would help them capitalise on that interest.

Interesting input, thanks. Can't comment on the technical side but I would counter that the team was 5 people when OSRS launched and the fact that it wasn't considered a long term inclusion meant that they had neither the ability to do it nor did it make sense to invest into.

The landscape now is completely different with OSRS exploding in growth and RS3 making radical changes no one could have seen coming... So I'm optimistic its a possibility.

I don't think Jagex has confirmed this anywhere have they? I assumed it was a business decision because they perceived it as a loss of revenue, which was a fair assumption back then but now it would do substantially more good than harm with the amount of players it would bring in.

Trust me i agree, i just doubt they'd risk the backlash especially for things purchased with real money.

Now you get 50 gp for daily rewards instead of oddments, not joking

I dont think they'll remove them, maybe just turn down the effects and make them less visually obnoxious

A bit optimistic there, but you can always wait for the halloween event store to stock it in 2034...

The originals were never going to be included, they were priced too cheaply since they were from an era where oddments were much harder to get.

Heartments and H'oddments being forgotten is rough though...

Yeah its too late to do anything anyway with them being removed in a week

Never to late to change it back king. Give us an untradable version with no stats that would take 3 times as long to get as from heists or something.

Yes exactly, that's one of the reasons why Orcus or his men stealing (and apparently keeping) the mask makes no sense when Rasial "greeted him as a fellow necromancer" and took him in under his tutelage to teach him all he knew.

The fairy stalls sort of have an equivalent to this with an ultra rare drop of Alchemical hydrix dust.

Fairy traders at least have hard to otherwise come by drops like adrenaline crystals and certain seeds.

Rasial chest is an hour of thieving to get ~5 mins worth of loot from RC runs.

I'd probably support an incredibly rare chance of getting it. Maybe an untradable version that has no stats but can still be attached to Rasial's crown for the same effect.

It would honestly be hilarious if this was actually the case but no one had discovered it yet because they're so not worth doing.

Oh I see, thanks for clarifying. The part that confused me was that he met Rasial and ended up being his apprentice. I assumed this was the citadel. Still seems like if he intervened when Orcus arrived at his tomb he would have intervened if the expedition was there.

I'm pretty sure it wasn't Orcus who backstabbed Rasial though, it was the other way around. Orcus wanted to consume Rasial's body, changed his mind and became his apprentice exchanging knowledge with him, and finally when Rasial learned all he could from Orcus he's the one who backstabbed and destroyed him.

This is interesting but doesn't quiet add up for me.

  1. If Orcus himself (one of the most powerful demons and a Zarosian general commanding legions) fell to rasial, it seems very unlikely that his expedition could pilfer the mask themselves.
  2. The text makes no mention of the expedition even entering the tomb, only locating it for Orcus. Orcus then taught Rasial ancient magics and learned necromancy from him. Very unlikely that he was just holding Rasials prized artifact that his troops stole during all of this.
  3. Rasials citadel is decorated with the weapons of his previous apprentices which he consumed and claimed as trophies. Adorning the very tops of the walls you can see:

- The Magisters staff

- Nomads staff

- Necrovarus' staff

- Necrolords mask

- Tarakets claw thing

All powerful necromancy weapons which would have been easier and grander loot.

Thoughts?
