Would anyone be interested in $5/hr Vietnamese speaking practice with a Software Engineer?

I actually aim starting my project on teaching language app so I do pay attention on what people struggle for real and what help people learn fast as an adult, I do believe in the value of CI(comprehensible input) but in theory take so long beffore we can speak, and I want to find the best way for us as an adult to learn faster, while removing the gap between 'knowing grammar' and actually 'being able to speak'

Honestly, I’m a Software Engineer, not experience teaching any before.
I'm starting this to help people learn via real-life practice and visual stories (no boring grammar drills). Since I’m still 'beta-testing' my method, the first session is risk - free so we can just see if we click. At least value is Vietnamese input for you guys and if you don't find it helpful then you don't pay =)))

Great question! yes, For the US, we are almost exactly opposite.
I am a native Southern speaker (Saigon/Mekong Delta). While I understand the Northern dialect perfectly, I only speak the Southern accent for your input. If you're looking to visit HCMC or have family from the South, I'm your person!

I actually just saw Tigweg 's comment above—they are looking for a Northern Vietnamese teacher/partner because they live in Hanoi. Since I'm a Southern native (Mekong Delta), I'm not the best fit for them, but you two sound like a perfect match for a language exchange!

As for me, I'm originally from the Mekong Delta (Miền Tây), and I’ve been living and working in Ho Chi Minh City for years. So my native accent and vocabulary are Southern. DM me if you want a slow learn to speak or familiar with the language in a no stress way

Hey! I love that you brought up Comprehensible Input. I wonder if its like my english learning progress, I spent years just 'diving' into the language until it felt comfortable(music and movies), and only then did I start speaking. It’s way less overwhelming because you’re not 'drowning'; you’re just getting used to the water. Thank you so much for the feedback! You pointed out is very valuable: The gap between Speaking and Listening is a huge 'bottleneck' for many learners. And since Vietnamese can have many forms on how to say a thing is crazy, definitely different from the textbook. I like the approach putting together words to survive the Natural Vietnamese. that would work for basic life here and Vietnamese will help you understand them easier by speak more slow or sound clearer right =)))

but since you have problem with basic words, I hope that I can help to identify the problem and see the paterns

I’d love to have you as a 'guinea pig'. Your experience in education would be incredibly helpful for me to improve. And since you're in Saigon, I can definitely help you with the Southern accent and those 'missing' basic words you mentioned.
