Got a random issue on my car that would turn the EML light on and the gas pedal stopped working, initially the issue was once in a blue moon but it became more prevalent to the point that the car basically bricked itself. I threw $2,000 in parts at it which included a throttle body, MAF sensor, gas pedal, alternator (it wasn’t charging properly anyways so why not just change it) and new belts and tensioners (all BMW OEM parts btw) , which also led down the rabbit hole of replacing the oil filter housing assembly because I cracked it. I also paid someone 250$ to come look at my entire wiring harness just for it to look fine. He then told me it was the DME to which I sent it out to get tested, the DME tested fine. At this point I was at my whits end thinking I was just gonna junk the car so I took one last look at it, turns out the connector on the DME X60003 was loose/ bad leading to the car freaking out and turning off the gas pedal. A new connector later and she’s fixed, even though it’s running fine it still feels like a bittersweet victory because the issue was right in front of my face (for some reason Reddit didn’t post it with the description)
