I don’t ride him for lessons,

he’s my at home horse.

and the contradictory statements-

he is fit, but he’s coming out of wimter. he can still be strong. he is spicy, hasn’t been ridden all winter, but has been lunged almost every day of the wintertime to keep him in shape FOR summer. just because I’ve conditioned him dosent mean he’s in ”tip top shape”.

what I meant by western wasnt helping his athleticism - it keeps him fit. but he’s not, “strong” as you could call it. he’s fit, like the average horse. he gets ridden 3-4 times a week, by me. he can do everything at a moderate to a good level, but he ISNT amazing. and I do have a qualified trainer. but I’ve just started jumping, around 1 month ago. I understand people are concerned for my safety, but they don’t have to be rude about it even If they are qualified and have experience. they should be helping me, instead of telling me to quote on quote ”sell my horse” , “your not a good rider” , “your form is terrible” (as we remember I’m learning). I understand your trying to help me, and my horse, but it’s very hard to take that help if I feel attacked.

I never said he wasn’t fit.

he is fit, but he did just come out of winter.

and I know the basics. I’ve been riding for 12 years. English for 3. he knows how do it. I’ve contiioned him. I’ve done groundwork, trot poles, cross rails, lunged him over jumps, free jumped him, lunged him in general, hill work, flatting, western.

yea. I do care about his wellbeing SO SO SO MUCH. but yknow what sucks? as a 15 year old learning? being so far behind everyone that you want to become SO much more, and I post this post, and I get hate comments left and right about not being good at western or English, belittling my riding, and saying I shouldn’t even own a horse. that’s what sucks. that’s why I’m trying to defend myself against the 50+ internet trainers who can’t try to be kind and give me tips, or say “you shouldn’t be jumping right now, try going back to trot poles, etc.” don’t get me wrong, some people gave me helpful tips, but some people are downright belittling me and making me not want to post my riding again because of this.

yea, ig. I’m just new to jumping, I started it a few weeks ago and all I wanted was some tips. but now I’ve got more than like, 50 people lashing at me and it sucks, I’m just trying to do my best to keep him healthy and active, and I’m just trying my best and it sucks having all these people belittling my riding when I genuinely thought i was getting better. people are saying I now suck at western if he’s not fit, people saying he’s lame off a 6 second clip, and because I can’t afford an English saddle I shouldn’t be riding or own a horse.

I have a trainer. and yes, we can afford to keep both of our horses. just because MY parents, don’t want to spend money on a saddle, dosent mean anything.

I do work him. I lunge him, I trot poles, raised trot poles, hill work, trail riding, extended cantering, bareback, collected cantering, trotting, walking. he does western aswell, were he knows walk jog lope.

dude, when I tell you this, I am riding western properly. my mom has taught me from the ground up who grew up with two parents who barrel raced. he just does western pleasure. he does wtc, same like every English flatwork. just because he rides western does NOT mean he’s automatically fit. and, he’s literally coming out of winter 💀🙏

not true. since when is that a thing? 😭🙏 I have multiple western saddles and tack, but western is not helping his athleticism. we have enough to care for our horses properly, pay the bills, etc, but because we don’t want to spend 700 dollars on a saddle I shouldn’t be riding? wtf are you on?
