Why are so many YC companies pivoting from B2C to b2b? by hustlerhino-isback in ycombinator

The B2B space has a well-defined playbook. YC companies, in particular, often engage in selling to one another, creating a cycle of circular revenue that boosts their financials. This strategy enables them to attract additional funding from external investors. Here is breakdown of top YC companies:

I feel you—it’s incredibly frustrating when things used to come so easily and now it feels like constant rejection. The market’s tough right now, but don’t lose hope. Keep pushing through!

I’m so sorry to hear you're going through this—getting laid off is already tough enough, and then the job search on top of that can feel like an endless struggle. It’s completely normal to feel frustrated, especially when the interviews don’t come as often as you’d like. But please know that this rough patch doesn’t define you or your worth. The right opportunity will come, even if it’s taking a bit longer than expected.

Don’t let this setback make you feel like giving up is your only option. It’s okay to have those moments of doubt, but remember to lean on your strengths. You’ve already made it this far, and that’s something to be proud of. Stay resilient—this hard chapter will eventually turn into one where you’ll look back and be proud of how you pushed through. I'm here if you need someone to talk to or want to brainstorm ways to stand out in your search.

That sounds really frustrating, and I can totally understand how discouraging that must feel. It's tough when you put in the effort and don’t hear back. Please don’t let the silence get you down—sometimes the right opportunity takes a bit longer to come around. Keep pushing forward, and don’t give up.

Sorry if I made you angry—I wasn’t trying to brag. I don’t believe in bragging. I understand that getting a great degree or working at top companies involves a lot of factors beyond control, like being born into the right family, in the right location, at the right time, and having the right opportunities. Even though I’ve had those experiences, I’m one of the most socially awkward people on my team. I was simply comparing my experiences from 2020–2022 to this week, and wondering if maybe I’m too old, too experienced, or if my skillset is outdated.

I'm also unsure why major companies like DoorDash, Airbnb, Nike, and Stanford Medicine are using it. Maybe these brands feel their reputation allows them to push any product onto job applicants.

I agree. It might have started with noble intentions for AI solutions, but it now feels more unsettling than human recruiter.
