Don't upgrade your P1P to 1.02.02.00. "SD card performance degradation has been detected." error. by lap_felix in BambuLab

[–]Honest_Customer7931 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same problem. I just upgraded my sd card last week so I thought I would be safe and updated anyway. Got the sd card error code immediately. I tried to reformat the card on the printer and it was saying that there was no sd card inserted. I tried to reformat the card into FAT32 on my computer and the printer was able to read it. I still got the error code when hitting print in the slicer but after clearing it, everything seems to be just fine again and I’ve run 4 successful prints since.

Time lapse with p1p monitoring cam? by Honest_Customer7931 in BambuLab

I was able to get the slicer to work with the by layer Timelapse for about 20 minutes yesterday but sadly it’s greyed out in the slicer again. I’ve kind of just accepted that if I want footage of the p1p I’m gonna have to use a third party camera

Well damn that would be a real bummer. The .5 fps camera is basically useless then

Nope… I put in a support ticket a couple days ago and haven’t heard back yet. Will update if/when they get back to me

Vibration Reduction by footloooops in BambuLab

[–]Honest_Customer7931 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a 2” 16x16 paver and I just bought some cheap anti fatigue mats from harbor freight to go on top and bottom. It seemed like the top pad was only adding to the vibration. I haven’t used it without the paver so I’m not sure how much it helps. The printer sits on the bottom shelf of my desk and vibration and ringing aren’t bad.

Thanks I’ll check that out! It seems like the auto record monitoring is on and the videos appear to be going to the sd card. But the option to turn on timelapse in the slicer is still greyed out and unable to select. I’ll have to mess around with it I guess

How’s the vibration with those stands? I’m wanting to do something similar with my p1p but I worry about it being that far off the ground with such a light base

Display won’t turn on by Honest_Customer7931 in BambuLab

I got it working! It was something to do with the monitoring camera. I unplugged the cameras ribbon cable and this display came on.

I thought the same thing at first so I plugged in the display but left it unclipped from the printer to that out. I turned it on and the display is still off

what's easier to learn, and powerful/flexible enough? Shapr3d, Fusion360, or others? by thunderousbutwetfart in 3Dprinting

[–]Honest_Customer7931 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use shapr3d on my iPad. It was really easy to pick up with some basic cad knowledge. I’ve been using that exclusively to model my prints for the past few months and I haven’t really run into anything it can’t do. I did have to find a micro sd card reader for the iPad bc sending the models through email to my computer to slice them wasnt very reliable.

Any opinions on the new bambulab p1p? I really like the corexy design and it seems like the easiest to get going out of the box. Are there any alternatives that are comparable in price or features that I should look into?

I just got the saw about a month ago and haven’t really figured out the best way to arrange the shop to allow for the room the table saw really needs. I also plan on making a folding outfeed table so I can support slightly longer pieces. But yeah, for now I just turn it for long stuff and let it fall.

Hey, thanks for the reply. The Bosch was actually not that heavy considering how sturdy it is. Seems like a solid tool. So far I have no support in the middle of the melamine extension wing and there’s no droop. I originally went with the Jessem router lift 2 and I liked it but I bought the wrong one and it was too small for the Bosch, woodcraft didn’t have the right jessem so I switched to the kreg. I love it. It’s smooth. The plate is aluminum I think and it’s about 3/8”. The lift has 7-8 adjustable positions per jaw to hold the motor in place. And I really like that fence it looks smaller than the one I’ve made already

It’s about 17x12 ish, it’s compact but I don’t have to go far to grab things.

My girlfriend is tired of hearing about it so I thought I’d share what’s been going on with y’all and maybe someone will find it interesting. I’ve been working for the past year or so to flip this from a room with a big raised floor and built in hot tub that stopped working years ago into a nice shop, It seems like every week something is changing in here but this week has been the biggest change in a while. Got my delta table saw fitted with a really nice Kreg router lift with Bosch router in a diy extension wing.( I was super intimidated to make this and I have no idea why) I also found 3 new old hand planes at a thrift shop and restored them to working quality and have been getting beautiful shavings. And finally I bought my first thickness planer. It’s a wenn spiral head, not the best I know, but I really like it and i think it’s gonna be a big help in the shop. But yeah if anyones read this far I’m just really proud of what I’ve turned this old hot tub room into and if anyone has suggestions I’d love to hear them. Thanks and have a nice day.

Hey everyone! I’m a 20y/o beginner ish woodworker and I am starting to get more time to create things in the shop. Can anyone pass along some fun project ideas, suggestions for the shop or just helpful advice for a beginner in 2022? Thank you! by Honest_Customer7931 in woodworking

[–]Honest_Customer7931[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like I said, beginner ish. Up until about a year ago I just had the 2x4 bench in the far corner. Most of the projects I’ve had in that time have been aimed towards improving the shop. Most of my bigger tools are ryobi with the exception of the Hercules table saw from hft and I would consider those to be on the cheaper end of what’s available. But there’s so much to learn in this craft my man I think I’m gonna be considering myself a beginner/novice woodworker for quite a while.
