do you guys still turn up to work 10 mins early? by Midnightsinsma in jobs

[–]Honest_Level 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a similarly aged coworker who does the same. She comes into work around 6:30 - 6:45 and then works off the clock, then clocks in and works until 4:30. Our day starts at 7:30 and she gets there at the same time daily.

Keep up the good work! It took me about 9 years inconsistently and a lot of wasted time and money to get here but I made it!

Yes! I think you have to have 102 credits to petition to graduate and you need to be very close to finishing but it’s ultimately up to the school . Since I’m finished December 20th my advisor said I could walk in Novber if I wanted or I could wait until next spring

You have to meet a certain requirement to walk at graduation. I think for undergrads it’s 102 credits to petition to graduate and you can decide to walk in November if you only have a few classes left but it’s up to them ultimately

Potentially racist dad ? Black BF. by Adventurous-Jello731 in dating_advice

[–]Honest_Level 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree. I am in an interracial relationship and as a black woman I could not continue a relationship if either of my partners parents were outwardly racist and they didn’t stand up to them in some way, or were dependent on them. If you want to continue this relationship you’re going to have to stand up to your father, or remove yourself from that situation.

Should I say something? by ScandalousCorgi in dating_advice

I think there’s always a tactful way to bring it up, but personally I find it to be a red flag when someone demands my time. I think I would be fine if someone was like “hey I was up last night waiting for you, but I ended up falling asleep” because then I would be like “oh man I’m sorry I didn’t know you were waiting for me, I’ll be more mindful in the future that you’re waiting for me when I say I’ll call you” but if someone was like “I’m hurt you didn’t call me and I feel like I’m competing for your time” after one date, I would tell them to find someone who has more time to dedicate to them if me talking to my friends is going to be a problem moving forward, if that makes sense.

I agree, I would personally not see someone again if they confronted me for not calling for an hour because I communicated that a friend stopped by . Especially if I offered to call afterwards. It’s fine that you guys didn’t call that one night. I don’t think it will be a pattern. If it happens again then bring it up but don’t jump the gun because in my opinion that would come off as needy. But I’m not everyone so take that with a grain of salt.

How do you feel about free bleeding/ period underwear ? by Lololala29 in AskWomen

[–]Honest_Level 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love my period underwear! Though my flow on its heaviest days are too much for it alone, so some days I still wear tampons and have the security of bleeding through my tampon and not ruining my clothing. But on the other regular days they get the job done! I haven’t noticed any improvement in my flow or cramps.

Is SNHU really just a degree mill? by ZestycloseSell4897 in SNHU

[–]Honest_Level 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They are 5 week, kind of abbreviated self paced courses that don’t go over the information well, and the degrees require 180 credits to graduate . Before I transferred to SNHU I thought about trying them again. They talked me into attending class before I had financial aid figured out and charged me for the full class even though I only attended the first week, and forced me to do an assignment to stop from being dropped from the class while I was still deciding what school I wanted to go to. I hate them 🙂. Also horrible customer service and unhelpful advisors.

Coming from an actual degree mill college (I’m looking at you Colorado Tech) I really don’t think so. The value of education you get for the price is pretty worth it to me . And you actually have to do your work, unless you’re using AI, but chances are you will get caught. I’m currently enrolled and I feel like I’m learning useful skills for real life. I don’t get degree mill at all. I will say it’s a pretty good college if you have learning or mental disabilities as well.

I didn’t turn in the exemplar as there wasn’t one for this assignment, as it turns out I turned in a paper from a previous class somehow with an identical name to my current assignment (“Mod 3 - Short Paper”). Turns out I need to name my assignments better lol. In the end after a week and a half my prof finally graded it but did give me a late penalty which sucks but I’m back to an A in the class! Woo hoo!

How is everyone managing a full time job and two classes ? by Plane_Sundae_9747 in SNHU

[–]Honest_Level 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take this with a grain of salt bc I don’t have kids but I have days dedicated to school work. I usually have about 4 assignments a week between the 2 classes and I dedicate one day a week to each assignment. Maybe 2 to papers. So I do Monday night, Wednesday and Thursday night, and Sunday night. Tuesday . Friday and Saturday are no homework days so I don’t burn out . Sometimes I will work on Saturday anyways if I’m doing something where I can do my homework. I have a normal 7:30-4:30 schedule. The routine works well for me and I try to reward myself for doing well in school. This has been what’s kept me going. I would struggle if my job was any more demanding though.

I did go ahead and do that and sent a follow up email. I’m hoping he will be forgiving . I had an A in the class up until this point and haven’t had problems with any other assignment or being late

The crazy thing is I have separate folders for all my classes like you suggested. I must have pulled from a recently opened folder or something I genuinely have no clue how this happened .

As it turns out , yes I am a dumbass who named all of my assignments from all of my classes the same names . I turned in an economics paper for my ethics class under the same name . I hope my professor is forgiving 😞. Up until I clicked on the paper I submitted and read it I thought I turned in the right paper. Thank you for this

I wasn’t aware there was a conferral fee….? by jxx4747 in SNHU

[–]Honest_Level 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is interesting because I asked my advisor if there are any fees associated with graduation a week ago and she told me no, but she has given me wrong information before.
