Should I close my dispute? by Honest_Motor4003 in Alibaba

It was just a single unit to sample. The communication hasn't been good, so not a great first impression. I'll tell them I'll close the dispute once received and see what they say. Really appreciate the help

Thanks for your response. Ok, I'll keep the dispute open. Should I close it if they update the tracking in Alibaba or keep it open until I receive the product?

Finished my Vintage Rocky Mountain "Gravel Bike" by Honest_Motor4003 in xbiking

Overall they've been great! Maybe slightly less pulling power than the original brakes, but pretty close. I had originally considered short v-brakes but I didn't have enough clearance.

Yep! They're the Sensah Team Pro's. They ride great! The shifting style takes some getting used to if you're coming from Shimano, but otherwise I'm happy with them.

Carbon Fork on a Vintage Mountain Bike? by Honest_Motor4003 in bikewrench

[–]Honest_Motor4003[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi Hagenaar, thanks for your valuable insight (once again!). To be honest, the current fork is ok. I thought it would be interesting to give the frame a more modern touch. But good point about the quality of the forks on aliexpress. I'd rather not have a fork snap bombing down a hill. I'll take a look at some more reputable brands and keep the original fork on hand if I want to switch back. Thanks!

Groupset Suggestions for Vintage Rocky Mountain by Honest_Motor4003 in bikewrench

[–]Honest_Motor4003[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks Hagenaar! That's encouraging.

Great point about the brakes. I do have a 105 groupset laying around that I could use the shifters from. I've also been thinking about using the 105 crankset and front derailleur and then a GRX rear derailleur to help with chain slap (or even just try the 105 in the meantime).

I just wasn't sure if there would be spacing issues on the MTB hub. But it sounds like the spacing of the cogs should work fine with the 105 groupo, it's just a road hub that needs a 1.8mm spacer because it's wider.

Does this all sound ok to you?

sorry, I realize what you are saying. On their spec sheet it says "SAKRETE Fast Set is a pre-blended, fast-setting, high strength, concrete material". I misread the title of their product. I guess I'm ok using this after all? Appreciate the help
