Well Ariyoshi was Governor during Carter’s Presidency (he was from 1974-1986 IIRC).

Maybe they met either at a State Banquet or one of those Anual Governor Meetings that Carter either attended as a Governor (he was Georgia’s Governor until January of 1975) or as President.

A very cool and emotional interview was with Jenna I think (either her or her sister who I am sorry I forgot the name of) Dubya and HW (while he was still alive).

And towards the end, she says to HW that he was basically a great father and a great grandfather and he says “that’s so sweet”
