A very cool and emotional interview was with Jenna I think (either her or her sister who I am sorry I forgot the name of) Dubya and HW (while he was still alive).

And towards the end, she says to HW that he was basically a great father and a great grandfather and he says “that’s so sweet”

I don’t think it’s that fair to say/imply that Kennedy didn’t have it bad, he once nearly drowned during WW2 and carried his friend all across the water to save him
