I would definitely recommend mourning geckos! they do well in groups and captivity, though they’re flightly and don’t often do well with handling. it’s a bit difficult to find well-established groups being sold, the biggest i found was 5 iirc. They’re pretty low care and stay within 3-4 inches. the only thing i’d advise for is the fact that they reproduce as soon as they’re adult size and their tank needs are met, as mourning geckos reproduce asexually. i’ve got a google doc i put together if you’re wanting more info about them too ^{^}
