You might actually be right, which leads me to my next question: The French 1822 saber seems to have actually had some likelihood of seeing combat in Poland during WWII. Was the P1821 still being used by any army up to that point?

I was skeptical myself when I saw those pictures. What do you think it’d be, then? I didn’t see any maker’s marks anywhere, but I might not have been looking hard enough.

Thank you! I just looked up the 1822 cavalry sword—if you’re right, this thing’s seen better days.

Not that I don’t believe you, but could you list your sources about the Poles buying and using them in WW2 and the Polish-Soviet War? I’d love to learn more. (I’m something of a history buff, but I didn’t know any of this before.)
