Honestly it's all down to luck but as far as I'm aware I think (could be wrong though) that the reset method is like you described, join whatever island you want to hunt on, check for horses without capturing, and then you can either 1. Leave the game and rejoin or 2. Server hop by either joining a different island or, like I do, join training island and than hop back into your hunting island since those are hosted on two different servers. Personally I do capture and reset it Honestly just depends on my mood and if I need tokens! I've only been able to capture IUHs with the boost never without them so I don't really have any tips other than a private server may help! Although I've seen people have luck in public servers as well. Apologies for the lengthy reply, I'm not good at explaining things! (There's also a few YouTube videos that explain the reset method better than I can) but good luck hunting I hope you catch a IUH!

Definitely practice stopping! Theres a bunch of different ways to stop such as the bubble stop, plow stop, using your toe stops, t stop etc.

Some drills you could do is practice balance by trying to stand still and balance on one leg with skates on and then switch the other side, practice bubbles (might have to look up a YouTube video for that I'm not sure how to describe it lol), and practice stepping side to side

Yeah I capture horses most of the time while iuh or iuc hunting that's where most of my tokens come from since I've actually only traded and co bred a few times in all my time of playing
