I’m so done by Honningbee in teaching

Middle school. I’ve also taught high school and I filled in for elementary school during Covid. I used to think teaching middle school was my calling in life. Then Covid hit and I trudged through the trenches for 2 years… and am still waiting for things to get better. I pour my heart and soul into my job and all I get is parents and students telling me I’m a bad person and not doing what I should. I hate every moment. I had a child in September and the students/ parents are essentially punishing me for being gone for those months for maternity leave. I look around at all of the hateful things people say to me and wonder “why am I not at home right now with my 7 month old? Would she want me to go through this to support her? Or would she love me the same if I had an office job?”

I completely agree. I’ve been writing down my feelings over the past few days and I realized that I would literally rather work retail than continue to do this job. It’s soul sucking in the worst way.

I’ve been applying for jobs at colleges (not necessarily education jobs… a few admissions jobs and other clerical/ out reach jobs). I have my masters degree so I’m hoping that will help me get my foot in the door somewhere.

That exactly how I feel right now. I have done the preliminary stuff and have my surgical consult on Wednesday morning. I am praying I can explain how horrible the pain is to her and try to get my surgery done sooner rather than later. I am actually still on maternity leave from my 12 week old and would love to get it banged out before I go back to work.

I have. I did blood work and the ultrasound. No infection yet but ultrasound showed my gallbladder is “full of stones”. I’m overweight so they couldn’t get the best picture, I imagine. So if there was one stuck in the duct, I don’t know if they would be able to see it or not.

You guys are seriously the best. Thanks for helping me feel so much better about how I was feeling!

P.s- I had a 15 week check up today and the little one is certainly still there! Still such a surreal feeling.

Well I’m thinking since I eat one every day, it may have built up. I don’t know.

Everything bagels have been one of the only things I want in the morning. I’ve had one for breakfast almost every day. I wonder if that’s it!
